Most fighters would never say no.

You can’t say yes but be laid back on the ropes looking dazed and gassed like David Price and expect the ref to let you fight on.

Even Hearn said AJ didn’t know where he was when the ref stopped him. Why let him continue just to get dropped again. He was done.

When the ref says let's fight and you don't fight that's quitting. But I'll accept the concussion as the reason he quit. But you can't say he didn't quit when the ref told him let's fight and he refuses to move out that corner and fight.

Well I guess we have different definitions of that term.

To me a fighter has to be aware of what's happening. Angulo quit vs Lara. Rigo quit vs Loma.

But when you're clearly concussed, say you want to fight but are clearly not fit to continue fighting and the ref sees it and waves it off, then it's not quitting. It's a TKO.

Joshua did look and act out of character yesterday. You know it and I know it.

Was he also concussed after the first round and 2nd round?

I'm giving you the benefit of the doubt with the concussion excuse. Concussed or not, he quit.

I thought you had to be up and walk towards the ref with your hands up? looking the referee in the eyes and making it clear you are ok?

The fighters are told this and to follow referee instructions and normal rules..... Joshua did not do anything correct in trying to tell the referee he was ok to continue or of sound mind.

he didn't want to continue and displayed that clearly to everyone watching and the referee, who called it off correctly and done his job.

So why didn't Joshua follow the known procedure and rules to indicate to the referee he wanted to fight..... just saying you are ok but not displaying it is not enough.

Boxing referee's tell the fighters the procedure and it is well known. Eye contact with the ref, hands up and walk towards him and say you are ok.

Joshua said he was ok but did not indicate to the referee at all or follow the well known procedure.

God damn so many dumb people that DKSAB on here lol

EDIT: you don't have to box a single day in your life to know how a boxing referee checks a fighter after a KD.... that is open information and explained to fighters in the changing rooms before the fight

Again, Aj nods his head and says YEA, while making eye contact with ref. Ref hesitates again, and waves the fight off, and AJ looks confused.

AJ never once shook his head, or say no, or say "I quit". He nodded his head every time the ref asked him if he could box on. Having his hand on the ropes does not equal quitting.

And I didn't hear the ref tell AJ to walk towards him though I may be wrong on that.

                  Where exactly did he "quit"????
Helen, he quit when he spit out his mouthpiece. Nice to see a lady here, but now you know.

If he's clearly not there, then it's up to the ref to protect the fighter.

But he quit so it's a moot point.

Yeah that's what I'm saying. He was out of it so it was not a bad stoppage. But Joshua didn't quit because he wanted to continue. He didn't know what was really going on it seems because of all the shots he took. Bad taste to call that quitting bro
