I think with all the shenanigans with Miller, he was very dedicated to that fight. And when that didn’t happen, he just coasted to this one, especially with how Ruiz looks. He had no game plan, his body language was off all week, he was flat and I also think the Wilder performance got to him. The expectations were just too high and they kept mounting daily.

All he just needed to do was fight behind his jab, stay focused and take the opportunity when it presented itself.

I also won’t be surprised if he was out in South Beach ****ing, lol. I saw a post somewhere where someone said he was in the club partying it up and he covered his face with a hat.

AJ peaked in the Wlad fight. He's not improved at all since, in fact he's been fighting a little more cautiously which has been to his detriment mostly. Looked like **** against Takam and Parker and was being outboxed before stopping Povetkin. He hasn't got the defensive capabilities or the IQ to fight that box and move, hit and hold style that he's been trying since Klitschko.

I'm not completely writing him off, I just think there is so much that he needs to change to get back on top and I doubt he's good enough. He ain't no Lewis who got caught with a single shot but still had all of this ability and promise that needed to be brought out of him by the right coach. I don't think there's a Manny Steward out there for AJ. Completely different dynamic and AJ is nowhere near the caliber of fighter Lewis was when he was shocked by McCall.

The silver lining is that although more competitive, the heavyweight division is weak at the moment. The "top guys" can all beat each other and there are a few contenders out there who can beat any of them on their night given the chance as we saw last night. We'll have to see how he bounces back but he can still be in the mix thanks to the poor level the division is currently in.

A regular training camp, watching film and enforcing his will at a distance and it's easy peasy.

He bottled it. And I had a feeling this was going to happen after seeing his body language all week. Just never saw Ruiz sparking him out and I thought if it’d go the distance, he’ll be favoured on the cards.

That shot to the temple changed everything. It wasn’t even a set shot, it was lucky one that caught him in the most dangerous spot in the head where a short guy wouldn’t get to normally.

They were fat guy combos....wide hooks to the head. He did slip in a couple of nice jabs.

Things are back to normal by Nov

i think he is finished. if he wants to comeback then he needs to reinvent himself as wlad did but aj doesn't have the boxing fundamentals to fight long nor the physique. he needs to ditch his trainer and get someone who actually knows boxing.

whatever mystique he had has now been shattered, now he is gonna have to fight and dig into trenches each fight because others have seen him knocked out. i see aj like a better version of frank bruno

                He showed several vulnerabilities.

                His Chin
                His Stamina
                His Ring IQ
                His Head Movement
                His inability to adapt

But most of all his heart, he showed fear and got scared to pull the trigger because of feared of being countered and then the way he quit.

The world knows these weaknesses now and they will jump on him for that.

                No way back IMO

                **** on.

I constantly slated his fraud career. Even his Olympics were robberies.

Hes no Lewis, fury, Wlad. His skills have regressed.

I don't know where he goes, but I think he really needed this loss. What I don't like is that Joshua went full loco out there. Not listening to ref and not coming out, celebrating like he won the Olympics, hugging ruiz, posing with his team, grabbing mic out of Chris's hands.

Dude went a little Kray Kray and snapped.

Was AJ overwhelmed with this whole ''fighting in America'' nonsense ?!?!?
So where was the straight right hand of the type that hurt Povetkin? Fire the trainer, AJ's ring IQ looking prospect level in there but he was always very overrated when it came to his boxing skill.

AJ needed a wake up call. He will be fine.
