My link shows a side view angle of the ending. Even in this link he's telling AJ to come on and turn around and waving him to come forward as he walks towards AJ then asks him if he's ready to box and waves him forward again. He just stands there. Ref gave him way too much time.
Damn Joshua straight up quit

The ref says "are you ready to box?" Joshua nods and says "yes" and a split second later the ref is waiving him off.My link shows a side view angle of the ending. I'm kind of being the devil's advocate here. I really enjoyed this fight and couldn't be happier for Ruiz. I've never been an AJ fan and think this is great for the HW division and boxing in general. It's just that a small part of me is going...what if? Would Ruiz have had the stamina for late rounds? We will see what happens in the rematch...but Ruiz made me a fan tonight for sure.Last edited by jaded; 06-02-2019, 03:58 AM.Comment

This dude is obviously having a laugh. I'd say channeling all the bs post fight after Brewster did exactly the same thing to Wlad.
Those hooks in the side of your head can make you look gassed and f***d for the whole rest of the fight.Comment

Man, I always love it when possies on the internet call professional boxers little girls.Comment

He can laugh all he fughin wants
For all the trashing he does about Wilder ( which I don’t give two fughs about ) , he should check his own posts
Now that’s chit is funny
I think these guys cheer more for Hearn than the boxer
Then again he is 15 years old
What he’s learning I already forgotComment

Well I think I'm gonna disagree. I think the Wlad reference is pretty good and quite apt for this fight. No doubt AJ fans will start the "something was up with AJ" threads. The way I read that comment, was that dude was on point with the satire. He can laugh all he fughin wants

Something WAS up with him alright, and that's he was smacked hard in the head, just like Brewster did to Wlad.Comment

First I am not a brit , what is there to despise ? he was SHOCKED , he never thought this could happen and he , as you said "mentally shut down" , If AJ comes back in the rematch and loses again , then yes , he has a mental issue that will not be easily (if at all) resolved. You're attempting to create a false narrative. That isn't what happened. Joshua mentally shut down after the first knockdown. Folded up.
You a real boxing fan or what?? You're supposed to despise that sort of behavior. If you're speaking as a Joshua fan or as a Brit STFU.
But I will give him a chance to stomach what has happened to him , let the realisation that is not invincible set in and see if he can regroup and be a better fighter due to this BIG setback , or just be finished at the elite level.
Unlike you who seems so eager to call names and belittle fighters I will be a BOXING FAN and not call a decade long HW champ and a legend a little girl.
Unlike you I will be a BOXING FAN and not write off a boxer due to a single loss.
Why are you that insecure ? stop calling fighters little girls , show some respect to the sport and its fighters and then you can ask me if I am a real fan again.Comment

I dunno if I'd say that was a quit, I think he genuinely expected the ref to let it continue, as a UK ref probably would have.
When the ref called it off, he was like "WTF??? Haven't they paid you off? I knew we should have got Terry O'Connor."
In fact, if Terry O'Connor had been there, it would have been AJ by third round TKO.Comment
