Why was Marquez such a nightmare for Pacquiao?

Bradley never schooled Márquez
It was a very competitive fight 115-113 to Tim
This idi.ot again.
In the first fight, except by the first round, Márquez dominated Pacquiao and definetely he won the third fight
In the 4th fight he trained to gain muscle and K.O Pacquiao
It was a risky movement because he was slow and he was taking much more.punishmenComment

What Freddie should have taught Manny was to attack JMM on the other side instead following JMM's direction everytime JMM pivot's away from Manny's left. Manny was just too hard-headed or dumb to know that he kept following JMM's clockwise backwards movement getting sucker-punched by JMM's right hand every time - all just to try to land his left hand.Pac and Freddie just could not figure out JMM's half step back traps .
Then again, you can also argue Pac was a nightmare for JMM.
His facial scars are mostly from Pac.
JMM was nailed countless times by that left hand when he backed-up.
I think Freddie should have taught Manny how to change the elevation of his head a lot more.
And Freddie is really not big on inside fighting. Pac could have used a lot more training in that department.
Then again, boxing refs today are dumb. They don't allow much inside fighting now like Carlos Padilla or Davey Pearl.
In his series of fights with JMM, his right hand should have been the more utilized weapon instead he goes back to relying in his left.Last edited by Ca$ual Fan; 05-30-2019, 03:25 AM.Comment

He obviously knew where Manny's head was gonna be. He's already got Manny figured out in their 1st 3 fights. He just doesn't have enough power to KO Manny or at least put him down. He didn't actually care about getting outboxed anymore that 4th fight. All he just wanted to do was to land a powerful shot that would put Manny down. He did vow he would KO Manny that fightComment

They were tailored made for each other. Other fighters never hurt him. The knock downs were more from his poor balance, everyone thinks he recovers crazy fast when actually hes not even hurt. When was he hurt? When he got hit when he was already down?Comment

Straight lead right hand and his ability to deceive Pacquiao into thinking he was closer than he actually was, by slightly leaning in and taking a step back when Pacquiao lunged. To Pacquiao's credit he managed to be extremely competitive despite Marquez knowing how to capitalize on most if not all his weaknesses.Comment

marquez has been so successful against manny because IMO, he doesnt fight pac scared like most of manny's opponents does. marquez is willing to sit in the pocket and trade with manny.
he's willing to take one to get one. if you look at most of manny's opponents, they're hesitant when trying to throw, etc. and they're usually on the move. marquez is not like that. marquez doesnt use his legs much but instead he uses his upper body movements to get away from pac's punches.Comment
