I really don't get it? If he's (or his management) are worried that he'll lose the belt then fair enough, but surely they appreciate the money that can be made. He could even have a rematch clause. Worst case he loses both, he can then have big money fights with the likes of Whyte. There's huge money there for him to be made, but it just seems that the Wilder camp are content to keep the green belt for as long as possible making a fraction of the money that could be earnt. As long as the promise of that fight is out there, TV companies are staying on board. They want it.

So they pay him big money for relatively easy work to keep hold of him. And the future fight keeps getting bigger. Ignore the sporting element and the chatter - you would probably do the same.

Pointless fight, he clearly won against Ortiz, if you fought a rematch every time you get tagged you’d be fighting the same guys over and over.

Fury would be legitimate rematch, but AJ and Wilder have to get this on, it’s marinaded too long.
