To hardcores I kinda agree, but with casuals he's probably the 2nd most known 147lber they know thus he has value to everyone at 147.

Hopefully Manny gets him outta the way in July cuz Thurman is the one guy in the division I believe is most driven by money & avoiding an L right now. And I believe he takes an L to Spence & Bud 80% of the time & even old Manny seems 50/50ish to me. I'm even kinda liking Danny's & Porter's chances in rematches better than I liked their chances the first time around.

Basically the sooner Thurman is legit irrelevant at the tip top of the division the sooner this division gets worked out & the #1 guy isn't a speculative thing its a definite thing.

It’s definitely a fight I want to see. But my hope is that both fighters don’t sit around wasting prime years on a fight that’s probably not gonna happened in the near future.

When Bud resigned with TR last year. He did so knowing that all of the heavy hitters in the welterweight division were fighting for a rival promoter. So he effectively sealed his own fate as far as being able to get immediate big fights at 147. So basically, his best hopes for a big fight is the Prograis-Taylor winner being willing to move up and fight him. Or Arum being ready to cash out the overrated Ramirez. But Bud would be a big favorite against all of these guys. And moving up probably isn’t something Bud is overly interested in because he’s already up two divisions from where he started.

Spence on the other hand has options in the welterweight division. He just doesn’t have any options that should excite any real fight fan. The Porter fight is a waste of time. Conventional wisdom says that the Manny-Thurman winner is probably gonna be his next target. But neither of those guys are particularly interested in fighting Spence. So Spence is close to being in a similar position as Crawford. The difference is Spence is fully capable, and hopefully willing to move up to take on new challenges. Personally, I think he should take the Canelo fight next. It would probably be the biggest payday he’ll ever get. And it’s basically a no lose situation similar to what Mikey was in moving up to fight him. 154 is also an option. It’s a bit of a crapshoot up there with no real elite fighters that are gonna overly excite a lot of people putting them in there with Spence. But moving up in weight has long been a way to fabricate interest.

At the end of the day, Spence-Crawford is a fight any real fight fan wants to see. But we shouldn’t wanna see it bad enough that we give both guys passes for hanging around fighting bums waiting for politics to get outta the way of their superfight.

And why is everyone still sleeping on Shawn Portet??? A fight with him involved is always competitive and interesting. If you put either Manny or Thurman against Bud or Spence, it will be fireworks. Yes, I’m ready for Spence vs Crawford just like everyone else, but neither has proven their the best at 147. Thurman has the better resume at 147 and if he beats Manny, it will be a generational passing of the guard to him, not Spence or Crawford. Welterweight supremacy runs through Keith “One Time” Thurman. He has big wins over Porter and D. Garcia. He is elite at the weight and has the style and ability to compete against both Crawford and Spence.
As a hardcore fan, I don’t see how Manny-Thurman excites you. Manny-Thurman is a prime example of what’s wrong with boxing. Manny’s done nothing wrong. But Thurman has sat around for two years faking injuries in hope that the demand for a Spence showdown would go away. And after rejoining the ranks of active fighters. He’s targeting an aging legend and guys he’s already beaten. And has already come out saying he’s not interested in a Spence fight until late NEXT year. And this years isn’t even half over. No real boxing fan should support anything this joke does outside of getting in the ring with Errol Spence in a sanctioned boxing match.

          This article is bull****

          Likely fed by Arum, too.

Spence-Porter, Spence-Thurman, and even Spence-Danny are all as good or better fights than Spence-Crawford (if Pacquiao was younger, Spence-Porter of would likely be better too).

Crawford is a dynamite 135/140lb fighter, who has yet to prove much of anything with his level of competition at 147lbs.

why do you want to see Garcia-Garcia? I'm pretty sure it's going to be another borefest because Mikey has no business in welterweight

Crawford vs Spence is the hardcore fans dream fight but not a commercial success. It won't happen until it benefits both fighters and their promoters financially.

You know it's crazy how with most fighter's that are 32 years old they try to make it seem like well, they are past their prime now or getting past it. I could remember them saying Brook was old after he just turned 32 and just this past weekend on Showtime the commentators kept harping on how Argenis Mendez was past his prime at 32.

Then for the select few like Crawford they say he'll only be 32 he's in his prime at his peak. It's like which 1 is it? Always found that quite ******.

Unless you've taken a considerable amount of punishment in your career or injury prone then 32 is 32.

Actions speak! Crawford offered Danny 4 mil+ whatever & he said no...nothing more just no. Danny went on to fight a nobody with 1,300 for less than one million.
