He and Floyd are both great, but they are definitely NOT cut from the same cloth.
I don't think that's really fair to say. Their careers just panned out differently. Mayweather has been at a point, since the Pacquiao fight, where he had nothing left to prove. Pacquiao has been at a point where he still feels he has something to prove. That's obvious since part of his motivation to keep fighting is chasing the Mayweather rematch.

I mean, you could just as easily say Pacquiaio wouldn't dare fight Cotto at full 147 or above, but Mayweather did, and then draw a conclusion about them being cut from different cloth, but I think it's more complicated than that.

Fair points. I do think that Floyd was quite a lot more calculated and risk-averse than Manny, from the start and throughout their careers. This is understandable though. Manny lost relatively early in his career, while Floyd's entire identity as a cross-over sports star was built around him being and remaining undefeated.

        Also fair points!

But hey, honestly I can't fault Floyd's team for his choice of opponent until the Berto fight, which was his last one (or should have been), so that's not so bad to me.

I just think both were warriors in there. It's just that one still has that fire going and the other doesn't.

any testing not done done within 3 months of a fight is pointless. We've already passed that time frame.

I detect a little bitterness from a fighter who lost to Manny every fight he had with him. Complete had his ass whooped and it was NEVER close. He road his myth into the sunset. Provodnikov kicked his ass too.

He will probably earn more than in 90% of his fights combined.

These guys are in the hurt game to win money. If anything, he already won.

You take Floyd at any point in his career and the risks he took pale in comparison to Paquiao's. He's more calculated and unwilling to risk losing. His fighting style is the best example of this.

Not saying Pac's style is better or that Pac's greatness is above his BTW. He already proved who was better.

Not everyone is willing to take huge risks, and there's nothing wrong with that. In fact, a lot of fighters are not facing each other nowadays because of Floyd IMO. He's boxing's biggest success story ever: an extraordinary talented guy who retired with the most amount of money AND took the least amount of damage. If I was a young kid who dreamt of being like any champion, I'd be ****** to pick any fighter not named FMJ.

With EPO and designer steroids no amount of testing will detect the cutting edge PED"s Memo proved this.... I don't care if you have day of.

If this version of Pacquiao shows up. It's over for Thurman.

Hopefully Pacquiao wins and gets that Floyd rematch. Then he can earn a solid payday and retire.
