This is the equivalent as if lennox Lewis had fought butterbean. Nice try Hearn, but nobody believes that he's truly concerned. Hearn had no intent of giving Aj a truly dangerous opponent on short notice.
Good comparison.....AJs power will simply be too much when he lands on the much shorter fatter man, and he will land. Ruiz has "potential," but with that body he's not living up to it. A Snickers bar before a fight should be cool - I guess. But how can a candy-toting, sugar drinkin', carb lifestyle create an optimum fighting machine? Concerned Hearn is only "concerned" with paying for an all you can eat buffet for Ruiz - right before the fight....deducted from Ruizs check
If we go back and watch the first couple of rounds of Povetkin v Joshua, that right there is the style Joshua doesn't do well with. He didn't figure Povetkin out, Povetkin just tired and his defence opened up and made it easy for Joshua. Question is, is there anyone who can replicate those first couple of rounds by Povetkin for the full 12 ? Ruiz is not that guy, he might look ok in there for a couple of rounds, but without feet, he's a static target to incoming and heavy artillery (like Breazeale was).
So the style that might give Joshua fits is a Povetkin with a better engine (aka Usyk).
Not to say its the only way to beat Joshua, but Povetkin showed one way to win rounds.
Povetkin did tire, but AJ also changed his approach after the first round to counter what Povetkin was doing - he took a more side-on stance and was hanging his lead hand low to draw attacks and counter them, which is something I've never seen him do before.
After the fight Usyk said he liked AJ's tactics. He also said he didn't see anything remarkable in Josh, just a very well trained fighter.
Povetkin was trying to take AJ out with his quick, rushing attacks. Usyk would be trying to pile up points and wait for AJ to gas, then maybe try to overwhelm him with sheer volume of punches and no respite.
He might succeed, or he might rush onto something and get sparked, like Povetkin. It will be a fascinating fight if it happens
Good LORD!!!! Some fools on this site trying hype Ruiz up as some BAD @SS!!! Neither him or Beaz is a Top 10 HW. The HW division just SUKS outside the big 3.
Sometimes I troll idiots like you by giving you back the same kind of moronic shyte you dish out. The difference between us is that I can be objective when I need to be, and you can't can't.

Good points, reminds me to go back and watch Povetkin fight again as likely missed it first time round as so surprised how well Pocetkin opened (so that the only thing that stayed in memory)..
Usyk/Joshua would be a little like a mirror-image of Wilder/Joshua. Usyk possibly able to build rounds and points as long as he avoids taking a fight-changing punch, bit like Joshua expected to do vs Wilder. Difference that possibility of Joshua also landing a definitive punch vs Wilder, while not too many see any possibility of Usyk ko'ing Joshua (but, boxing, ya never know...)
Tell me about it! Sometimes they are too hilarious to be irritating, sometimes the other way round!
Today, one actually said Josh speaks like an idiot, hence Hearn speaks for him, lol. With a comment like that, when even Josh’s biggest haters know he’s well-spoken and articulate, you don’t need a psychic to tell you the poster has his own insecurities and low self-esteem and it has nothing to do with boxing.
Then you have the ones that will twist all the facts to create their own unintelligent/uneducated narrative.
I’m all for critiquing boxers based on their inadequacies/deficiencies. But these clowns just have other agendas, lol.
I do get that the point is to enter the us market and there are a dearth of us heavyweights, but Ruiz is slow of foot and will get into a war with A.J. Thats exactly what aj wants

Usyk Joshua would be the opposite of the mirror image of a wilder fight. Usyk is a better boxer than Joshua and would get points with combinations and getting in and out. Wilder will try to ko Joshua but will not win a fight with combinations or piling up points
Imagine what Ruiz would look like if he had the same bodyfat % as Wilder? He'd be a light heavy probably, or cruiser weight for sure.
Hearn needs to stfu with the nonsense. Should have delayed the fight a few weeks and fought Ortiz....someone who actually has a chance. No top heavy will fight for titles with 3 weeks notice, unless you are someone like Ruiz, who has nothing to lose.
I agree with this .Ortiz would have had a full camp and everyone's happy but Hearn regardless of 'being worried ' about Ruiz's style is like his old boy , over the moon with this one.
