Jones was offered fights with every single one of those guys and turned them all down. He defended his titles against some real **** opposition who had no place sharing the same ring as him. And when people said he was 'greater than Sugar Ray Robinson' for beating Richard Hall it was a kick in the teeth for boxing.

There you are right. To defend him, he looked better against some guys who also fought your stuff for hall of fame.

Just excuses, but the brits story we all know.
Chris Eubank, Nigel Benn(I heard he didn't want to fight Roy)
With Henry Maske,Graciano Rocchigiani, Dariusz Michalczewski, is the Germanfactor, finde ich übrigends ziemlich geil den Ausdruck.
Aber keine Ahnung ob die in den USA gekämpft hätten.

Joe Calzaghe wasn't that big at that time, i can remember well when nearly all of the Us people here said that Lacy would kill him.
"He is a overprotected European" and so on and now he is a fall of famer. You have to look at him at that time.

So I guess everyone is suppose to fight big named fighters all of the time? He turned Hopkins and Toney into chumps when he fought them. Besides if he had taken on all of the boxers you would say are named fighters, he would've beat em all. Yes all.

He didn't fight ANY of those guys, there was so much depth but he chose to fight policemen and firemen and even had the nerve to play a pro basketball before one of his fights! Michael Nunn was his Mandatory from 1995 to 2000, from his prison cell Nunn still says that Jones DUCKED him and you cannot really argue with it (neither can you blame Jones).
