His team spews rhetoric fashioned to look like they are going to make a fight and low ball fighters and blame them for backing out. AJ is nothing but a muscle head with a mere 21 wins. Fair enough. But you can’t deny the fact that he’s the primary reason why boxing is so lucrative again and why a lot of money is being pumped into the sport.

Damn, alot of talk other than boxing on this thread. I don't really prefer AJ or Wilder, or Fury for that matter. From everything I read, to include Ortiz' own team, they dropped the ball on the fight. My guess than as it is now, is that he probably had PEDs in his system. I don't think any of the top guys are afraid of the others nor do they think they will lose. In order to get to a certain level in anything competitive you have to have a strong belief in yourself.

Don't know who would win between AJ and Wilder but the jockeying and delays in getting the deal done have absolutely nothing to do with one of the fighters being scared nor does it really provide one with an indication of who will win the fight. It's entirely about maximizing money and advantageous position.

No one ever gave me ****. I don't have a lot, and most of what I've earned over the years has been taken away from me, but I'm smart enough not to expect anything from anyone or walk around thinking anyone owes me anything.

I've worked in the ****tiest ******s around for years, and I've also worked for some of the richest familes on the PLANET. Probably the biggest sickness both classes of people had in common was this sense of "entitlement" you speak of.

I highly doubt Ortiz turned down a fight of this caliber with AJ. Anybody wise have to consider, at Ortiz's age, with a loss on his record already, what else does he have to loose. Dude step up and fight a formidable opponent and stop worrying about loosing either Fury or Wilder's belts that your holding hostage. Gone are the days where fighters fight whomever- win, loose, or draw.
Its horrible across every weight class, fighters running scared with underserved belts.
