i dont know about now, because he did lose to baldomir. but he has fought both DLH and PBF, two of the best fighters ever, in losing efforts, and he is an absolute legend of the ring and he has got to be remembered for the next 100 years some how. I wouldnt be outraged if they didnt put him in, and i wouldnt be outraged if they did. catch my drift?

theres alot less deserving fighters in there than gatti. dwight qawi is in the hall of fame,. bobby chacon is in, Gatti has to be in. 4 fights of the year? he has to be in. the standards aren't as high as some posters think.

Go and look up Bobby Chacon record, Gatti doesnt compare to Chacon, so go and talk about somone you know. Instead of dissing someone you know nothing about.

Surely it's farcical to just compare Gatti to other fighters who have made the HOF. To say that there's other fighters who are already in the HOF who don't deserve it, and by that rationale Gatti should be in, even if you don't believe his record is deserving of it, is bizarre logic. The question is whether, based on his merits and achievements, he is deserving on his place in the HOF.

And the answer is NO. Sure he's been in some great fights. But great fights don't make a great fighter. You can get classic fights at every level of boxing, it doesn't mean they were fought by great fighters. Yes, his fights (in particular the 1st) against Ward were very entertaining, but the point is Ward was a totally one-dimensional fighter at the end of his career; a world class fighter (deserving of the HOF) would've schooled him for 12 rounds. Whenever Gatti has stepped up to truly world class level he hasn't just lost, he's been given an absolute lesson. Think PBF - did Gatti even land a punch in those 6 rounds? Embarrassing.

Great fighter to watch, definitely shouldn't a Hall of Famer.

That's a pretty good post , one side of it i can see is that if you put Gatti in then it's not really fair to others that were the same type of fighter but didnt get the HBO spotlight.
