Also the UK-US opponent matchup is probably not ideal for maximizing PPV revenue. Canelo and GGG did big money and over 1 million views each time because they are both in the same time zone. All of their fans are on the same page/time as far as tuning in for the fight.
Joshua would be Canelo to Wilder's GGG in this scenario. And Canelo/Joshua are the ones really driving the buys. So you're asking the B-side, who can't really sell a PPV on his own, to have his fans do 10x to 5x the usual amount of buys he would get for an average PPV against a normal fighter.
I think it does significantly better than Kov-Ward, but similarly disappointing in the sense that it should do well over 1 million buys, but I don't think it comes close, especially not in the US. I don't see where the buys would come from.
