Yeah and imagine if 1) Trinidad doesn't pull one of the most genius but dirty moves I've ever seen (the low blow) or 2) Vargas' handlers don't let him fight Tito until he is actually ready. In boxing, mismanagement can be a fighter's worst enemy.

these potential fans probably won't be impressed as they witness a "never was" who talks like he's a world class fighter

without the background knowledge of Vargas' past that we have, they may buy into his bs and then see him perform stiff, and unaggressive. Therefore, reducing the possibility that they will become a fan of boxing.

man bro, thats a little harsh dont you think? He's not the fighter he once was but fought the 2 best guys in Tito and Oscar
and kept it a competitive fight till the end. I wont count Mosely because it's obvious it wasnt the Ferocious Fernando that fought Tito and Oscar. I just thought you were being a little harsh bro.

I think Trinidad really finished him much like he did David Reid. Remember his return fight after against soft punching Wilfredo Rivera. Vargas got knocked down in the 2nd and almost finished.

          Honestly I don't think so.

While it might be true that the weight losing process may have affected him, I'm seeing it as more than that. It's more serious because it's psychological problem. He doesn't have it anymore to fight. He is just mentally wrecked and damage to compete further.

He might turn out to be just a punching bag for the 160 boys and I don't want to see that happen.

That is the question. Personally, I think he has looked more and more lethargic, not to mention weaker and weaker relatively speaking, as he has gone up in weight. I think he's through....

                No excuses, he is DONE!

For a professional boxer, boxing is his 9 to 5 job. If you are not OK to work, stay home. As plain as that.

Vargas needs to move up to a weight where his new ungodly slowness would be less of a handicap, but of course he can't because his chin is so fragile.

                  It's a Catch-22. It's probably retirement time.

And I must say, I'm not exactly sad to see him go. He was fun to watch talk a lot of **** and then get beat down, though. But at the same time, it'd be nice to see him go, and go out with a embarassing loss as a bonus.

                    harsh, but true-

hey look i had my hopes that it would be mosely who was goona age in the ring but that wasn't the case

i wanted vargas to win so he could fight margarito, get his ass kicked by taylor, or have a **** talkin showdown with mayorga one day

but lets face it if a new potential fan is exposed to a guy they billed as "ferocious" and then sees him fight like that i doubt we will gain a fan (except for the brutal ko which may have retained some)

he's taking time slots up with his mouth and fan following that could've been used on someone that actually has the physical capabilites for fighting still

he did well, he sold alot of tickets, and made alot of money, fought in some wars, and deserves respect for that

but he is well past done
