alot of ppl dont know..but losing 30-40 pounds in a 6-8 week time spend then getting in the ring for a boxing match and really ruin u (roy jones) and i think vargas is having that issue..evnethough i think the steriods and back problem detered his speed a little bit..he looked better vs castelljo and joval i know he cant beat taylor or wright..but i actually think he still could be a solid contender @ 160

i think for the most part he is done, maybe he'll have a bit more energy at 160 but it's pointless now.

I think Vargas is done. If he cant handle a blown up welterweight like Shane theres no chance he can handle punches at 160. He should retire if he wants to stay healthy.

Agree ...I think more then anything he needs to stay away from the big fights for a year or so to build confidence . He has always been in such a rush to prove himself that he walks into fights he's not ready for maybe now he can take some tune ups and rebuild what made him so good in the first place . He has been in over his head so many times now that it's hard to see him ever being on that top level again but he can still be one hell of a pro and in the right place and time champion .

how many beatings will vargas have to take before everyone realizes that he never was really all that good in the first place? vargas shouldnt even be a recognizable fighter.

he's done. if he is getting knocked down and dazed by a guy that is smaller than him, then he's going to get his head knocked off when he moves up in weight.

he wants to move up to a division where a lot of the guys in the division are dropping weight to make 160lb. if they hit him squared his done for good.

i think vargas should retire and call it quits while he still has his mental and physical facilities. vargas has a nice chunk of change from fighting, at least i hope he does, but he should look to do something that doesn't require getting hit anymore. it's not wise for him to keep fighting the way he keeps getting hit and the way he is responding to punches.

all of his losses are from ko or tko and he's taken a beating in all of them. plus he is always taking big shots in all of his fights, his defense is too poor to keep on fighting. he's going to get hurt.

Yeah he was ..I never thought of him as in the same class as DLH,Mosley and Tito but he was one hell of a fighter in his own right .

Yeah unforunately I think he is shot. It's not how many times he lost, but the devastating fashion in which he lost. Most think his career ended after the Trinidad fight, and while I agree that this fight changed him permanently (for the worse), I think the DLH fight sealed his fate. He invested so much in the fight emotionally and physically, after he lost it was over. Even if he could recover physically his mind is done.
