Comments Thread For: Wilder Feels Joshua Unification is Worth $100 Million Purse

WBC heavyweight champion Deontay Wilder is not denying that he's turned back several offers to face IBF, IBO, WBA, WBO champio Anthony Joshua in a unification bout. According to Wilder, all of the offers were below market value, and Joshua rejected an even higher offer of $50 million for the fight.

What he means is that both fighters could earn at least $50mil each. That's the purse split. The actual total purse itself is $100mil; Which is only $20mil off what DAZN was offering him a few months ago for two fights.

If you dont live in the USA you really have no viable opinion on the matter of wilder’s growing popularity....it’s without question....he saw him on the NCAA programming, we are him all over ESPN, all over showtime, on showtime tv shows, successful ppv, selling well at the Barclays and in Alabama....the fact that he was once offered $12m to fight Joshua by Hearn and now over $100m for multiple fights with dazn...it’s clear his star is growing. PBC has entered a new era in boxing exposure that is reaching the sports fan who doesn’t always tune in to boxing. In fact boxing is now more talked about than Mma again. If wilder wins and does so impressively, especially if he stops him early or one sided, and then makes a couple more defences and looks impressive, he is probably right about his pay....he is only going to get more popular in the USA, where even Hearn has said the fight will happen due to the money

if this is true, then him turning down the dazn deal looks even more ******.

True but there is zero chance that AJ's side will split it evenly. They see themselves as a solid A side because he is such a huge star in the UK and Hearn will always bring up that Wilder wouldn't be able to sell out a stadium (unless he fought AJ). Somebody has to give in.

So finkel just admitted that they've turned down four different offers because they're money hungry, it's not Joshua the one holding up the fight , it's Shelly finkel

                    The total will keep increasing.

So it will always be worth waiting if you don't think you can win. This has got years to go yet.
