I dunno. Ask the guys who said it. He was definitely in his prime when he fought Pac in my opinion.

The truth is, most fighters don't. Most fighters' resumes are built off fighting a string of good fighters with MAYBE 1, or if they're lucky, 2 really great ones sprinkled in.

Not out of prime, but not at his best. He came up two weight classes drinking his own urine. Floyd didn't bother to make the catch weight and refused to be weighed the day of the fight. JMM wasn't the same chiseled version of himself that KO'd Pac later on.

I can agree with some of that, but in the end of the day it's a fight. A fight is a fight.

Marquez was 143 when he blasted out 147 Pac.

He was 142 vs. 146 Floyd.

I certainly think he physically looked better vs. Pac, but that's how he chose to prepare himself. Know what I mean?

Marquez dropped right back to 135 after the Floyd fight. He actually fought at 130 the year prior to the Floyd fight. It was too much too soon.
