Will you give Pacquiao credit if he beats Thurman, and vice versa?

Let’s finally give credit where credit is due! Is there really anymore doubt of Pac’s ATG status?

Pac gets his credit, I watched both their last fights to make my pick and I picked Thurman to win a UD. Pacquaio's footwork was better than I expected, he came in and swarmed Thurman. He looked better than he did last fight, had more left than I thought. Thurman backing straight in a line with his hands low cost him that knockdown, I knew that was an issue for Thurman but I expected only a younger Pac to be able to do that. Pac fought at a higher pace than Thurman was comfortable with. I thought Thurman's punches looked crisp last fight but that was against a more stationary opponent.

Crawford is the only guy I pick for sure over Pacquaio. Spence is a very winnable fight, I would have to think about my pick, depends if Spence lands on Pac regularly enough. Porter is still a bad style match up for Manny. Nobody else at welter touches him.

Pac's timing is gone. Broner was a setting duck who doesnt throw anything and just shells up. Pac was not hitting him cleanly, his combos were missing or grazing most of the time. Timing is what goes first in age. You can still have hand speed and still look in good shape. Look at shot RJJ, still had fast hands but timing was gone. Of course Pac shut Broner out on the cards, easy to do when you have fast hands and your opponent never throws back.

Thurman was landing clean flush combos his last fight. Of course because he is young but he had surgery so that needed to be evaluated. Jeff Lacy was young but post surgery he couldnt pull the trigger again and wasnt landing clean solid punches, his career was done after that.

Thurman still wasnt that impressive, his defense was poor, when tagged he doesnt hold, he just moved back in a straight line with his hands low, a terrible move. Thought about this but after seeing Pac not landing clean, if he never hurts Thurman, this wont be a problem. His stamina was bad but that is something that can be most easily fixed.

If you watched espn post fight Teddy Atlas talked about Thurman looking bad against Lopez being the reason he got the pac fight.

I understand why you being a diehard pac fan would take that as discrediting the win but it really isn’t.

Teddy and others are just being honest about why a Manny level boxer picks guys for fights at this stage of his career.

It’s not in any way taking away from the win by Manny last night.
