Watching the DAZN broadcast, it looked like a clear 8-4 or maybe even 9-3 for canelo. Marquez-Barrera really wasn't that close. Lederman (RIP) terrible card and HBO's biased controversy convinced some it was close. I was at that fight and the vast majority of press and fans had Marquez fairly wide very much in line with the official judges. The 118-109 was off but the 116-111 felt about right.

The Mexican legends are super jealous of Canelo, they never in their wildest dreams were this wealthy, this marketable, and this good. He has surprised many of them in the ring, and the heads will keep rolling as he racks up more belts and titles defenses, he is also making close to half a billion dollars in network contacts and endorsement deals.
