That’s a lot of ifs and buts. Aj has stated he wants wilder next on many occasions I think deep down you know that getting aj to agree would’ve been a formality but wilders side still rejected the deal because they wanted to know how much aj was getting paid Which they wouldn’t tell him because that hadn’t been discussed yet.

These are things that could’ve easily been worked out if wilders side came to the meeting with the right attitude. I mean wilder fans could see how aj could sign the 50 million deal despite all the legal roadblocks so I’m sure you can use that objective head to understand that none of your roadblocks are genuine dealbreakers.

So Wilder was clear that the lack of control over his career was the deciding factor in not taking the deal. The not knowing what AJ was getting was an example of the uncertainty of how good the deal was that Finkel used. Did DAZN counter with an AJ only deal? Did they add a date range or exceptions that allowed Wilder to fight on PBC? These aren't ifs, these are unknowns that preclude blindly criticizing a business decision.

How do you know what "attitude" Wilder had going into the meeting? They took the meeting, considered the offer, and said no. It's now up to BOTH sides to come back together after their next fight to see if the fight and rematch can be ironed out.

That’s very difficult to believe. This wasn’t some hastily arranged contract. John Skipper and Finkel were in deep negotiations for some time and it’s frankly implausible that such fundamental details weren’t cleared up. Further to this, if what you said was the case then why hasn’t Finkel mentioned it? the PR train which he has been diligently building has taken a big hit from this offer being turned down and he has complained about exactly the same matter before - prior to the Povetkin fight. If it was an issue again surely he would mention it again?

Let’s be honest here; he didn’t mention it because it didn’t really happen.

Were they not clear on the desire for "control" in their presser? And since when does any promoter or fighter come out and start listing every detail of why a deal wasn't accepted?

Did Finkel and Skipper negotiate? Yes. You're assuming that the questions I posed were resolved simply because they talked? Finkel says we aren't going to hand our fighter over. Wilder says I want to control my career. What else is there to say regarding a network deal to fight a guy that has no date attached to it.

You say I'm grasping at straws while you make every possible assumption align with where you want to place blame. Difference between me and many others, I understand the game and see no reason to assign blame.

I don’t know if it was wilder himself but a pbc insider said they had an unprofessional attitude towards the negotiations. I’m sure things could’ve been ironed out during these negotiations otherwise. Dazn were obviously desperate to get the deal done given the massive offer

These are just lame Excuses that dnt make any sense. 100mil for Breazeale -AJ - AJ fight and that's all.
It could be trilogy depending on the outcome of the fight. So where is all these using wilder to build DAZN coming from?

All I see is excuses not to put the green belt on the Line. No other way to explain this.

Doesn't the 1st fight have to happen before a trilogy exists? When was the date for the fight? Had Joshua agreed to anything with DAZN?

I used to like Fury but the man is a hypocrite. If you ain't gonna fight someone please don't go around criticising him. Fury or Wilder will not fight Joshua because they know what times it is.

If DAZN was so desperate, why was Joshua and Hearn not at the table talking dates and their own contract with DAZN?

The contract was great money, however it included no dates to actually get the money outside of the Breazeale fight money. Wilder would have been committing to fight on DAZN and letting Hearn determine WHEN he would fight Joshua and preventing him from fighting other lucrative fights like Fury Ortiz and Kownacki in the interim.

So Wilder said thanks but no thanks, but keep that same $40M guarantee energy when we are negotiating a one fight deal against Joshua with an actual date.
