He was a cult hero, known for his mesmerizingly violent battles with Evander Holyfield, Michael Moorer and Ray Mercer, among many others. He once boasted to me of the job he did on Mercer's broken ja...

    Hey BS,

I'm a big Cooper fan. Knda had the Joe Frazier style. My dad thought I was gonna be like him. Although I was not like him at all

But Cooper could probably KO anyone today!!

Thanks so much for a great, revealing, authentic story about one of the true could have's if he would have's - which is about 80 % of the population.

Bert represents the flawed fighter who had the talent but didn't realize it, he sometimes was amazing and sometimes far from.

Bert will always be one of my sentimental favorites- though not as successful perhaps, I like to think of Bert as the HW human highlight reel...of sorts.

Travel well and thanks for the memories Bert.

I honestly had let Cooper slip from my mind. He was really good. A fun, leave it all in the ring type when he was all in. Hope he passed with family and friends around his bed. Relieved to hear he had found a church home.

How many fighters have been ruined by women or drugs?

                  They never learn.
