If Pacquiao beats Thurman he has to rank over Floyd historically

Pacquiao has nearly double digit losses and Floyd has 0. And one of Floyd's wins is over Pac himself.

Much as I dislike Floyd, Pac beating any other boxer (especially Thurman, who ain't shit) doesn't elevate him above Mayweather.

This is one of these easy bait threads, beating Thurman is a great win at any point of your career never mind being in your 40's! Doesn't make Pacquiao rate above Mayweather however, Mayweather and Pacquiao are touching distance from one another. If Pacman can get a win over Thurman I'd like to see a final final final comeback from Mayweather just for one fight with Pacquiao with both guys retiring directly after it.

Pacquiao is a rare case of losses not mattering that much, If you look into losses so much you would suddenly not rate Sugar Ray Robinson, Sugar Ray Leonard, Muhammad Ali, Joe Frazier and so on very highly just because they have a good few losses. That is an approach an uneducated fan of the sport would take.

Brony, I already agree that it is debatable who has the greater legacy between Floyd and Manny. I like Manny and his style, but what Floyd did looks prettier on paper. What I'm saying is, the debate will still be open regardless if Pacman wins or loses against Thurman. If Manny wanted to put daylight between himself and Floyd, he'd need to beat Crawford or Spence.

What does Thurman being too inept to beat Pacquiao have to do with Floyd?

Keith Thurman just struggled with a fighter Andre Berto knocked out.

And let's be honest, Pac ain't fighting no real young lions. He's done. There is a reason Bob did not want him in the same ring as Crawford. There is a reason he waited til after both Garcia and Thurman fought then choose the weaker looker of the two. And I guarantee Pac won't fight the winner of Spence/Porter. If Pac is fighting Thurman it's because he sees weakness in him. TBH you haven't been paying attention if you don't see weakness in "One Time". A lot of hardcore fans are picking Pac to win because they also see weakness in Thurman

Floyd has fought the top guys and is undefeated.

                Enough said.

They are both very unique fighters who accomplished unseen things in boxing history.

No sane logical person denies this. Floyd wanted ZERO smoke with Keith.

Floyd is the superior boxer and brought great changes to the sport.

Floyd legacy includes innovations to the way boxing is promoted. As liked as manny as by the average joe he didn't improve the way boxing is sold.
