This post is why Floyd fans have no credibility on subject.
Pac has better record against common opponents even Stevie wonder knows that. Cotto predicted Pac would beat floyd and stated he thought Floyd ducked Pac as he knew Pac would ko him (hardly sound s as if he think floyds better) and jmm said Pac s best of era.
Being knocked out in your career is not a barrier to b eing the best. When you fight at home it's easier to not be hit and be more accurate as there is no pressure. But meaningless sta ts like that don't equate to greatness and that's why no serious debates ever mentions things like that for any fighter in history. Floyd and his fans are only interested in the pointless stats, where taking risks isn't required.

      Let me clarify further.

Im not saying that Pacquiao is better than Floyd skill for skill. NEVER. Floyd is head n shoulders above.

Im strictly talking HISTORICALLY here. History awards risk takers.

Its the same reason i also rank Bernard Hopkins above Floyd in the history books.

Pacquiao is taking a massive risk during a stage of his career where he has every right to coast to retirement on a bum marathon.

didn't Hagler beat Duran? but in almost EVERY respected historian's greatest list who ranks higher? DURAN. because even in defeat the closeness of the fight ENHANCED Duran's legacy.

so skill for skill Floyd *****S on Manny. thats not my argument.

in the history books Pacman is superior if he wins this.

I don't see Thurman as a yardstick for anything great.

Thurman is an OK fighter, far from great, who episodically retires and ducks real tough competition. Beating Spence (which will never happen in this lifetime) would be better for Pac's overall standing in boxing now.

In no way will Pac ever surpass Floyd. Levels.

Thurman isn't a massive risk. He can barely be considered a risk anymore. After seeing Thurman struggle with Lopez, I think Pac is confident he can beat Thurman. I mean, even Andre Berto stopped Josesito Lopez.

If thurman was on floyds resume it would be one of clouds best wins. Thurman is more established name tha n Nelo was when Floyd fought nelo. Especially now Pac is 40.
Typical of Floyd fans to dismiss anything Pac does

What has Thurman done lately? Struggle with Lopez? At this point, Thurman is a part of the tier 2 at welter. Danny Garcia would beat the brakes off the Pacman, which is why he skipped it. Thurman is the easiest, acceptable fight, other than pure cans.

Not even sure if Thurman can beat Broner convincingly. I'd pick Mikey to beat him.

Your basing everything off thurman last performance when you know the thurman who fights Pac won't be the thurman who fought lopez.
Thurman beat Garcia. Floyd didn't want to find out how good thurman was and that is why Pac is doing clouds dirty work at 40

How would I know that? Thurman might come back even worse than his last fight. No way to know that.

I don't know if the Pacman could beat him but, even if he did, it wouldn't do anything for me. I don't rate Thurman beyond the OK level.

                    To each their own.

Floyd DUCKED thurman as a mandatory with no shame.

If Manny pulls this off he surpasses Floyd in the history books.
                      - -PAC passed TUE 50-0 ages ago. Ring record holder in p4p stats by a long shot and smashed the multi division record in a breeze.

Nancys always gonna moan over cheap Prettyboys, so whatever.
