BALCO Vic VADA and the rest of the boxing suits and officials can't pass VADA.

What else can I say other than you can't fix the ****** found on this board and VADA don't test for that!
I actually did my thesis in graduate school on body changes in athletes from certain types of drugs, mainly from PEDs (there was a tangent on how non-PEDS and pharmaceutical drugs, and necessary medication - blood pressure, cancer medication - impacted their body shapes and health).

I am pretty good at spotting what guys are almost certainly using PEDs - the drugs are always changing - they were changing pretty rapidly in the 8 months I was writing the paper. So I don't really know who is using what and what the designer drugs are now.

But I can definitely say Canelo's body transformation in his career and in between fights is very atypical. But honestly that alarm bell goes off for 75% of boxers so he is far from alone there.

Just no one as big as Canelo has ever been caught like that, in my recollection.

In my own experience when Ortiz and Povetkin tested positive I lost a little respect for them. I guess I still consider myself a fan of each but not as much. Povetkin's situation was a little murkier than Ortiz's was but it still seemed to be more than a little shady.

All I can say is if GGG or Lara or any of my other favorites tested positive, I just don't think I would support them that heavily. That would probably be the biggest thing they could do to lose me as a supporter.

Though until it actually happens that is easier said that done. Not sure exactly how it would go until it happens. Maybe I would find myself making excuses for them like Canelo fans do.
I get your & others take on it with losing respect for guys who got popped.

I just think you are in the minority with thinking like that. I don't think the majority of fans care & even a good percentage of the ones who care in the moment don't care THAT much to care about it 3 months later, 6 months later, a year later or w/e.

Their was a standard set by the commission about Clenbuterol:

The commission stated that the amount of Clenbuterol in Francisco Vargas system was deemed due to food contamination.

CANELO had less then half of the amount , that Francisco Vargas had in his system.

CANELO is a clean fighter: Case Closed.

you asked this : "why doesn't anyone care that Canelo pissed dirty and got popped for PEDs?"
people care , plenty of threads about the topic...

My opinion is that of the 3 fan groups out there:

            1) Floyd fans don't care because if he succeeds, it makes Floyd look good. Especially if he has success against GGG who they also hate.

            2) Canelo fans will back him regardless. They just haven't seemed to care one bit.

            3) GGG fans want the payday that comes from Canelo so they haven't made a big deal about it.

            What are everyone else's thoughts?

If any other fighter pissed dirty like that I would just think they would lose a ton of support and Canelo didn't lose one fan. It's kind of surreal when you think about it.
I think most fighters get a pass by fans after a bit of time.
Not all fans odviously but most just don't seem to care that much.

Good points. Like most things, time seems to heal all wounds.

I could have sworn he was suspended for 6 months for using PEDS

In my experience it seems like Canelo fans still love him like before; Floyd fans are always either for him or against him based on the day and circumstance, but never really mention the PEDs; and GGG fans that hated him before still do, and those that were more lukewarm on him or liked him some before have the same opinion.

Haven't seen a big shift in opinion about him since the test. Directly afterwards maybe a little - but as a couple other guys mentioned - time has seemed to heal all wounds and with his successes in the ring (warranted or not) he seems to be a bigger star now than before.

                      - -Canelo was built from his inception, as were so many in my day.

I don't fancy pants around with egghead convolutions needed to impress ivory tower eggheads, some of us naturally have high testa counts as thru all of history.

In my mid 50s as an athletic guy having a history of having older guys approach me to tell me that they used to be in my kind of shape, I broke out my old weight set for alternating 3x2 sets every week and resting on Sunday. I did this while maintaining my normal workout of heavy bag and running for 4 months with the only other adjustment being an extra portion of meat for the anticipated muscle gain, and I was not disappointed.

I gained 10% and was near drunk from the testa flooding my system.

Now, just you go and find when Canelo, who turned pro at 15, was looking anything other than ripped to the gills.

I'm waiting with baited breath of course, so do take care.
