But I definitely agree with the angle that him winning was almost necessary for boxing to continue as it was before - if he got beat after testing positive, boxing would have lost its biggest (or 2nd biggest) star, or he could have seriously been diminished.

Canelo fights now are like Floyd fights used to be - everyone makes money.
I don't think he won the 2nd fight either, and neither did the public at first but people accept things over time and now we have people thinking he beat Golovkin twice.

I also don't think he used clen. I think it was steroid injected Mexican beef. But, no matter what it was, people love winners and they will overlook all other things because winning matters most. Floyd beat a woman and fans overlooked it. Fury used PEDs. AJ called the black race superior and people ignored it. As soon as they loose, perceptions will change.

Wildlife all over the world now testing positive for drugs, and to be sure many banned substances are over the counter stuff, and in Canelo's case Clen legally found in his food chain, and I'd remind you of all the imported beef from Argentina and Mexico in the us.

BALCO Vic VADA and the rest of the boxing suits and officials can't pass VADA.

What else can I say other than you can't fix the ****** found on this board and VADA don't test for that!
Canelo said he doesn’t eat beef. Here’s his diet.

Haven't seen a big shift in opinion about him since the test. Directly afterwards maybe a little - but as a couple other guys mentioned - time has seemed to heal all wounds and with his successes in the ring (warranted or not) he seems to be a bigger star now than before.
there are several reasons for that(hair test, enrolled vada 365, rematch performance, clen issue in mexico, etc...), and as i said before it has been discussed to death on this place... but yeah, time also does his thing...
just as an example in mexico canelo is loved but also has more detractors(media or fans) than any other athlete, the positive test became a non issue just a few months later even for his detractors, you will hear them claim fight was fixed, the judges, he fights bums, etc, but almost nobody brings up the positive test...

My opinion is that of the 3 fan groups out there:

          1) Floyd fans don't care because if he succeeds, it makes Floyd look good. Especially if he has success against GGG who they also hate.

          2) Canelo fans will back him regardless. They just haven't seemed to care one bit.

          3) GGG fans want the payday that comes from Canelo so they haven't made a big deal about it.

          What are everyone else's thoughts?

If any other fighter pissed dirty like that I would just think they would lose a ton of support and Canelo didn't lose one fan. It's kind of surreal when you think about it.
I always knew he was on roids and other drugs...

He was muscular against Chavez jr and against GGG in the first fight.

Then he was skinny on the GGG rematch and now is a bit muscular again.

Why did he avoid VADA testing when he had to make 154 stating that "there was no enough time to benefit from VADA testing" WTF is that?

He was suspect and is dirty as ****. Most muscular white boxer in the sport.

To me he was already a suspect when he abandoned VADA for the Smith fight.

Unjustifiably suspended. Since the commission already set the standard , & CANELO had less then half of that in his system. Plus he volunteered for a hair sample upon request to clear his name , in which the results came back negative.
Professional's in the field said with that extremely low amount it would of have to be from food contamination and could no way shape or form give him any Performance Enhancing ability whatsoever.

In my mid 50s as an athletic guy having a history of having older guys approach me to tell me that they used to be in my kind of shape, I broke out my old weight set for alternating 3x2 sets every week and resting on Sunday. I did this while maintaining my normal workout of heavy bag and running for 4 months with the only other adjustment being an extra portion of meat for the anticipated muscle gain, and I was not disappointed.

I gained 10% and was near drunk from the testa flooding my system.

Now, just you go and find when Canelo, who turned pro at 15, was looking anything other than ripped to the gills.

I'm waiting with baited breath of course, so do take care.
Yes there are many ways to naturally enhance a physique. Usually PED users have a certain look however, to me anyway.

Thanks for your vote though - I will chalk one up to 'Canelo fan denying he was ever dirty in the first place.'

That is the truth, people love a winner. I had even forgotten about Fury lol. Another example that time and winning heals all.

That thing with AJ was su****ious. Was never sure if that was legit or photoshop. Never looked into it.

Also we disagree about Canelo and clen but we will agree to disagree. I have been wrong before, the story is just su****ious to me. But honestly since GGG ended up getting at least 2(3) big paydays from him to end his career, I can't even be mad at him. The King can always live by his own rules.

Interesting...besides a couple haters over there I would think he is universally loved in Mexico

I know Victor Conte thought he was definitely doping, but he is a crook so who can really trust him. From my (amateur) experience I think he was clearly doping (95% imo) but that is just my opinion.

Thanks for your vote though - will chalk another to his fans not believing he was ever dirty.
