Because Conor McGregor is a massive PPV star who has done massive PPV numbers.

Andre Berto had never been on PPV until then.

      Common sense.

The casual audience is what drives the massive PPV numbers and Mayweather vs McGregor was a casual fans dream.

Andre Berto put up more of a fight than Manny did, period. It was actually a decent outing although it showed Floyd's decline in places. Berto brought the fight and forced Floyd to actually try. Floyd stayed in first gear for the entire Manny fight and never needed to work that hard outside of tight defense and check punching.

          A better question -
Why would anyone think this would do average numbers ???

Bro you said "If he have those numbers now we would all be crying tears of joy".

No we f#cking wouldn't be. We had better numbers than those last year.

And nobodies nothing is in a twist. Those were simply trash numbers for a Floyd fight. Its not that big a deal, but lets not eat Floyd's ass either & act like it wasn't trash numbers for Floyd.

Mayweather basically said F-U 2 the fans by hand picking the original A.B. (Floyd wannabe) hell he even said it on All Access not to bother him about Khan, Thurman [when they were on fire]

It reminded me of the pre-comeback Tiger Woods golfing on PPV during the Day after Thanksgiving, nobody gave a crap!

Yes we would, if Wilder/Fury made 550k we would be crying now. If Spence/Broner made 550k we would be crying now, if Pac/Broner did 550k we would be crying how they all get 70%.

Again Mayweather worse number is still better than Wilder/Fury with all the hype and 2.5m projected PPV. All that “Mayweather is a superstar” means nothing when he is fighting a boxer like Berto but was still able to sell 550k.

He didn’t need a latino or Mexican to sell it, he didn’t need a Brit to sell it. Those were great numbers, every time an African American boxer face another one they go straight on regular TV, unless they are fighting a boxer with a Latino heritage. Even now am hearing Spence/Porter is going on regular TV..... so no those Mayweather/Berto number would be welcomed by someone like Wilder right now.

No we wouldn't. No one cares about that sh^t like that. Its a fun lil thing to talk about, but no one is praising their heavenly father over Broner's PPV numbers.

Well no sh^t its better than Wilder/Fury. Who said it wasn't.

This ain't rocket surgery doe ffs. Floyd is a 1M+ PPV guy & the Berto fight did garbage numbers. Its all relative. Floyd's garbage number is someone elses gold numbers.

Wut in the holy hell does this gotta do with anything? I'm all for discussing the particulars of why & how x ppv did better than y ppv, but all this conversation is about is the fact that Floyd's PPV numbers vs Berto were garbage for a Floyd fight. It was his worst PPV number in a decade.

Doesn’t matter how you dice it, those were great numbers between two African Americans boxers, we get that now we would be crying. Have seen how people were shouting how Wilder is now the A-side based on selling 325k for a well hyped HW fight. So don’t give me the “Nobody cares about that” speech. Fact is everyone including yourself cares.
