3 things I learned about Wilder this week.

Ok. So because multiple people make the same point, your assumption is "there probably are videos telling them to do this". Why isn't that people saw the fight and came away with the same opinion? Those were examples, but I will go into further detail if you insist.
An example would be after a fight happens, trying to rationalize why your guy won. There are probably videos out there trying to say why Jacobs won against GGG (or Canelo), or why Ward really won against Kov etc. Why Ward's shots weren't low in the 2nd fight etc.
They don't care about what the facts are - they are just trying to make whatever case they can for their guy winning. It doesn't matter if the data backs that up.
When you have 'your guy' winning 90% of close rounds, or 90% of close fights (even if he clearly lost) - you don't agree that is a problem? Saying 'we all saw it the same way' is a cop out.
If that was really the case then you should all see it for the other guy just as often and that NEVER happens lol.
If people thought Jacobs beat Canelo, Ward beat Kov or Jacobs beat GGG, chances are they thought so for the same reason. I don't see how you could have people think differently.
If for example you thought Jacobs won rounds 1, 2, 4, 9, 11, 12, I'm sure a number of people scoring at home might have felt the same way, especially if you are doing live scoring.
To suggest all those scores are the result of seeing a video or a shared talking point isn't factual, again given everyone is scoring the fight in real time.Last edited by The Big Dunn; 05-08-2019, 11:31 AM.Comment

Didn't you see where frankie led the video off with "I just made this video. Please support my channel. Subscribe"
you never once thought he made this video? Did you at least notice the voice never matched the words in the intro?Comment

If anyone thought Jacobs won round 4 then this boxing thing is not their thing at all. :0Ok. So because multiple people make the same point, your assumption is "there probably are videos telling them to do this". Why isn't that people saw the fight and came away with the same opinion?
If people thought Jacobs beat Canelo, Ward beat Kov or Jacobs beat GGG, chances are they thought so for the same reason. I don't see how you could have people think differently.

I don't necessarily think that ALL the talking points come from the videos; it is my opinion that more of the ridiculous ones come from there - especially when there isn't a great defense for a certain situation - so usually an obvious immediate rebuttal isn't available by people who support that fighter.
I will say that from my recollection after Ward-Kov 1 and GGG-Jacobs etc, it was basically unanimous amongst all groups who won. Then there were a few outliers who say 'their guy' won.
It is my humble opinion that the videos come into play at this point - in after the fact trying to twist the narrative to suit your favored worldview. Or in trying to take a guy that isn't 'your guy' down a peg, when there isn't really much to hate on in truth.
Basically most people of all groups saw those fights one way - but a few outliers saw them for 'their guy'. As a few months go by and a few videos come out about why 'fighter x' really won, that narrative starts catching on in that community, and people who originally said the 'other guy' won, now change their mind and say 'man now that I see it again, fighter x (my guy) actually won this thing because of (insert reasons here).'
Just parroting the views expressed in the video. The guy Mammoth on here is a good example of that - I just saw him say that about the Jacobs-GGG fight the other day.
I'm not trying to be insulting by just blaming one community, that is just honestly how it seems to happen with Wilder/Floyd/Ward fans. There are things to critique any fighter for.
But a lot of their critiques (GGG ducked Dervy, Loma hasn't faced anyone, GGG hasn't faced anyone, etc) are a little ridiculous and appear to come out of nowhere. Imo it seems that there are some channels/videos out there who try to devise ways to cut down other fighters not in their group, even if there is not much to hate on. It is when these wild talking point all of the sudden appear that it seems imo to be coming from the videos.
I could be wrong about that - but I do feel a lot of the more preposterous talking points come from there - such as a lot of guys inherently not liking GGG, but in reality there isn't much to hate on, so they migrate to these videos/channels that will feed them the hate they want, even if it makes no real sense. There is just no other reason to me how such terrible arguments can come about naturally by so many different posters.Comment
