Was Roberto Duran really intimidated by Hearns or was that just a myth?

Duran knocked out a clydesdale horse before, you really think he was intimidated by Hearns?

Hearn and Manny Steward completely condemned Duran for quitting against Leonard. Said they had lost all respect for him.
Fast forward to when they fought, I'm sure Duran felt those statements still.
It's comparable to Tyson vs Lewis. Tyson nor Duran never showed an ounce of fear to physically imposing guys even in the face offs before fights. They're professionals. Whatever happens, happens.

That was the Panamanian side of Duran that quit. If he was 100% Mexican like his dad he would have continued.

I'd heard that too but he didn't fight him scared, in fact, probably he should have fought a lot more defensively.

It's just never made sense to me that Duran looked overmatched against Hearns yet hung with Hagler, who destroyed Hearns and clearly beat Barkley whom Hearns couldn't beat once in two attempts.

I just thought he underestimated Tommy and as the fight grew close he realized he hadn't trained hard enough. Hence why you didn't see any of his normal antics.
Tommy properly starched him as a result.

Duran is afraid of no one I heard him on a interview he stated that he only had 3 weeks to prepare for Tommy Herans. He wants a rematch but was never given one. But of course you will have the same morons here saying he was afraid
