Was Roberto Duran really intimidated by Hearns or was that just a myth?

I've seen every single one of Durans fights and didn't seem intimidated by anyone. He was always running his mouth during pre-fight interviews but he seemed awfully quiet around Hearns before they fought. Is it because he was intimated by him or what?

He was. As good as Duran is you can see from his expression that it is a fight that he knows he can't win, but just took it because the money is way too good.

You can't deny that. The man just knows a fight that he can't win.

The truth was Duran was coked out of his mind during that time it all started with the Leonard rematch Duran was riding high and his training fell way behind unfortunately.

Duran ultimately proved to be the all around greater fighter.

Hearns was like 6’1 its natural to be intimidated with fighters so much bigger than you. Hell floyd was even intimidated when margarito approached him and asked him to fight

Duran was fearless and never ran from Hearns. If he was scared he would not have signed the contract to fight him.

Duran definitely wasn't scared of Hearn's but he knew Hearn's style was all wrong for him

I don't think Duran knew he would lose but took the fight for the money. Duran was still a big name and could have fought lesser fighters for good money. He wasn't desperate for money.
