I think the main reason for getting him out of the way at 160 is to make the GGG-Canelo fight(s) easier and more logical to make. That's what DAZN wants and that's where the big money is.

Jacobs-GGG 2 would be a good sell, as would Jacobs-Andrade or Jacobs-Charlo, so I think the fights are there for him at 160. But maybe they have a plan for him at 168. His jab was awful against Canelo and I don't know what all Danny has left at this point anyway, he looks a little shot to me post GGG.

But I would be interested to see him at 168 in one or two fights as well - just to see what he has there. I doubt he faces a top guy at 168 in his first couple fights though, unless he is in cash-out mode.
I agree he went down hill after GGG and is a little shot. 32 is still old for some boxers and he may be one of them. I doubt he becomes a full champion at 168. I pick Callum Smith to easily beat him if they fought.

Watching Khan quit against Crawford a couple of weeks ago, then Easter/Barthelemy stinking up the joint last weekend, and Danny not doing a damn thing against Canelo really hit where it hurts.

All I'm saying is, I'm just glad they didn't charge for Canelo/Jacobs...I'm not sure I couldn't taken that one lightly.
Sorry my fault, rereading it again and it made sense what you wrote knowing you have DAZN. I was thinking please don’t tell me they charged you that much for the fight.

I never believed this dude would win and his pre-fight interviews and demeanor said just that. I still watch his fight against Golovkin to this day because he actually tried to put forth an effort, but his performance against Canelo was poo-poo.

Again, I'm glad I didn't cough up $80 for this and I won't if Jacobs' name is ever in the mix again the main event. Leave the big stage to the guys who'll perform, not the ones with the built-in excuses who just want big paydays.

It's unfair to the fans when a guy begs for a big payday and packs it in as soon the opening bell rings. To add insult to injury, he continued to gaslight us with the whole, "I feel I did enough to pull it off" jibber jabber. Eff this dude!
I couldn't have said it any better myself. Jacobs performance was very disappointing. It seems that he was only there to collect a pay check and go home.

You're right, it won't be the last. We as boxing fans have a general idea of what fighters go through, so I can empathize.

However...I don't like how fighters "cash out" and try to gaslight us like we didn't just see it. Also, they have THE nerve to campaign for yet ANOTHER big fight. Craaazy! Lol

Thanks Heavens for DAZN, right? Lol

Had it not been for DAZN, HBO would've had a field day with that PPV and tried to squeeze every penny out of fans.

Yea I'll take the under Jacobs being "a different monster" at 168.

But a promoters work is never done I suppose so fair play in Eddie saying this.

And all that said Jacobs does stand a better chance at being #1 at 168 than #1 at 160.

Jacobs has definitely lost some snap on his punches. The weight has to be killing him. He's been at MW his entire career since pretty much 09. Time to move up for sure. But his confidence issues that he has will always stick with him. Very solid fighter who can compete with the top dogs, but won't get many decisions over them due to him holding back at the start of fights.

Wait, talking all that jazz but don't want to stick around for Jermall? Told you cornballs Jacobs didn't want it when he started talking M's to Jermall while Jermall was telling him to skip his fight so they can fight.
