I also don't expect to see Canelo using rehydration clauses against mw opponents now that he knows it doesn't matter. If he does though I see it as nothing more than him exercising his right as IBF champ to use Ibf rules or not. If you think its being a diva consider this,in non unification fights its a mandatory Ibf rule & was only removed from unifications to make sure fighters don't gain an unfair advantage over the IBF champ.
Stop making excuses for a b1tch move. Canelo is no warrior with honour. Anyone who tries to get an advantage by restricting their opponent is nothing more than a phony fighter and pathetic.

He won against Jacobs, but this does leave a sour taste. As do your excuses.

So if a boxer wants a fight, he should give in to ridiculous demands to restrict him and give the poosy an advantage?

Come on, what other sport would do this without having fans call it grotesque? These are supposed to be warriors but behave like jokes, cowards and divas.

Why everyone is hating on Nelo on this one. Pacman did it to everyone he fought with, from super feather weight to junior welter weight. and no one complaint, same with Mayweather, how much was he paying on the JMM fight for the weight? or how about against Canelo? Stop complaining and enjoy the ride. It's CANELO time *****es!!!!!!
Name the times Pac did it? He only did it a couple of times at Welter. Don't remember him doing it below that weight.

Besides, others doing it is no excuses for stacking the deck your way like a poosy. It's cowardly.

Weight cheating, drug cheating, in ring cheating with tactics, contracts to restrict them and stack the deck their way...

How you can be proud of so many pathetic Mexicans is beyond me. They're a joke.

When canelo was at 154lbs everyone cried that he was a weight bully that needed to move up now canelo is the smaller fighter and jacobs is the weight bully but it’s cool now cause jacobs would have the advantage and not canelo. You’re also calling canelo a coward cause he wanted an advantage but what does that make jacobs? When he could easily fight at light heavyweight but chooses to fight at middleweight cause he likes that big size advantage

Jacobs had no problem beating derevchenko but now him losing to canelo was because the weight was a problem? He needs to realize canelo is just better than him

I agree with your general argument that there should be no catchweights or weight control clauses in championship fights. Having said that, I saw no indication that the the weight clause had any real impact on the outcome. Canelo was just much better than Jacobs. No more weight-bullying though, for sure. Its a fair criticism.

I hate that contracts have stipulations like that in them.
It is what it is though.
