I had it 7-5 Jacobs. Looking at the forums either I'm drunk as hell or the fix was in already

I thought both morreti and weisfeld had it spot on through 9 rounds, but then got the last three backwards.
I feel like judges mean regress in their scoring, instinctively realizing a closer card leads to less controversy. I wonder if they subconsciously leaned towards Jacobs at the end there once Canelo was safely aheadLast edited by NachoMan; 05-05-2019, 02:25 AM.Comment

For sure. It's human nature, I suppose. Nobody ever really examines the individual rounds they score; just the final tally. As long as the cards aren't too wide (even if the fight really was wide), then they dodge the flamethrower. Also, I think the scoring aversion to even rounds is another factor. If judges scored more even rounds (they really do exist!), there would be a lot less controversial decisions in boxing.
absolutely, good point
it doesn't matter if fights are closer, if they are clearerComment

Weird how Glenn Feldman scored the last 2 rounds for Canelo and the other judges gave it to jacobsComment

Agreed, I had it 8-3-1 for Canelo. Jacobs is just too inactive and hesitant. His jab is mediocre for such a big guy. Canelo out jabbed him with his shorter arms, but Canelos' jab has gotten better and is very accurate. He may not throw hundreds of jabs, but the jabs he throws are very accurate and he lands them at a high %.Comment
