PBC cant afford to pay Maidana $150k, money is getting tight when you need to pay off so many fighters for turning down so many big fights on other networks and when you have to pay off media so that they dont totally shit on you for ruining all the big fights out there.

Originally posted by Scipio2009 View PostHe still had another 40lbs to go, lol. Beyond that, you here very little about Haymon paying anyone advances to begin with (Haymon would basically work with a fighter for free until they were earning over $150k per fight, that was the rumor anyway).
With Maidana openly admitting that his heart wasn't really in a comeback, Maidana not really hurting for money (tbh), Maidana already seeing $35k+, and Maidana simply choosing to go home (as he did), why would any sane person risk another $100k?
Maidana took someone's $35k+, used it up, and now went home. Is he going to refund the advance spent? Likely no
If Chino is telling the truth that he was promised 150k then he should have been given it. If Al and or Tom Brown didn't have confidence in Chino losing the weight and or fighting then don't make the promises.
Obviously, there's 2 side's to every story so I'll wait and see what the other side says.
If what Chino says is proven to be true,it's definitely a bad look for PBC. Boxing has highly competitive promotional battles and Arum and Hearn can use this in negotiations to lower PBC's credibility.
