People are going to treat this Canelo fight the same so that's around $3 per person. But the problem for DAZN is you don't want people to treat this like a PPV fight because those other 4-5 peo people don't have to get a subscription to watch it.

Even if one million people watch this fight Crawford/Khan still would have generated more revenue than this fight. And according to that article the fighters purses alone are near $40 million.

This isn't sustainable. The PPV model is more sustainable than this.
The problem with everyone I've talked to is the unfamiliarity and the subscription angle. I know several people watch all the major Canelo fights and have big get-togethers (they're all Mexican/American BTW). None of them are watching this one, which really surprised me. They are used to just getting a PPV through their cable provider and the app thing puts them off. They really don't care about the price. They just hear app and subscription and lose interest. I believe they all have Netflix so I suspect the issue is the fact that it's ANOTHER subscription, another app, etc. Doesn't make sense to me because I wouldn't let that stop me but I'm not kidding, I know several Canelo fans who are skipping this one.

There's always e85 and even straight alcohol. Also gas will never get expensive enough to force me into electric. Only tinfoil hat wearing "global warming" gullible people believe such nonsense.

        • How some low IQ thugs sitting in front of this forum 10 hours a day try to convince people here that DAZN is not sustainable. NSB never disappoints to entertain.

          • If DAZN can weather the storm of short term profitability, then they can definitely achieve some of their goals.

The biggest hurdle for dazn IMO is accessibility. Not everyone has smart TV or streaming devices.

That could be an issue as some boxing fans are poor and/or not tech savvy.
I see people having parties for regular ppv and just asking people for 5 bucks or whatever they can throw in. Hopefully, they do the same for streaming DAZN with a knowledgeable friend who has it at their house and has a great connection.

The best for boxing would be for bars and people getting together to watch to bring the excitement.

I would think the price point would be more conducive to fight parties. I'm having the fellas over with no cover charge. Just bring some drank and trees 😁

                • I don’t have cable. I just have Netflix and Hulu. DAZN is a godsend for me. I hope it earns a fortune and carries on forever. ESPN+ was awful and pointless and I’m never going back to cable. I’m not alone. There’s more people like me every week. Just depends on whether they are boxing fans.
HBO got out of boxing for a reason.
                  Keep whining dinosaurs.

To be fair if you’re American probably not.

In Europe and the other G7 countries I can see it with tougher legislation on carbon
emissions. Not necessarily that the oil isn’t there I’m sure it is but more a supply and demand thing nearly everyone is electric by 2040.

Yanks don’t care there though probably got 1 enormous woman in Florida releasing the same amount of methane as a small Dutch farm.

It's more expensive than a cable package now.

Amazon prime, netflix, hulu, espn +, dazn

                      100 bucks a month
