I mean dazn just started really only last year and has already 4million sub. They can probably make over a billion in revenue yearly in the next year or so. Will be more than enough to break even and it will continue to grow from there.

Showtime/CBS are killing DAZN without burning as much money.

As entertainment rivals AT&T and Disney plan to launch new streaming services in 2019, CBS has emerged as a front-runner among its peers in direct-to-consumer streaming services by having the best mix in media, according to a recent report by BMO Capital Markets.

CBS All Access and Showtime OTT brought in about $381 million in revenue in fiscal year 2017. BMO predicts that will increase to $1.003 billion in 2020. The investment banking group’s subscriber and revenue growth estimates for the platforms are based on all distribution channels, including app stores, connected TVs, Showtime’s website, and OTT devices and platforms.

Showtime’s subscription service also shows the potential for significant growth. By 2022, the platform could have 9.086 million subscribers, a 29% increase from 3Q18, the bank predicts.

That's just their streaming apps. That doesn't count the money they get from digital and Showtime's subscribers.

More content and it's cheaper. These people are ignoring major red flags when it comes to DAZN. The same people who went thru every nickel and dime spent by PBC & told you it was gonna fail & said Haymon was doing something illegal are the same ones ignoring the red flags about DAZN & it's shady Ukrainian billionaire.

DAZN better hope Amazon or Disney saves them.

They'll have to sell. Their are pockets way bigger than theirs who'll be competing for the same sports rights content they'll be competing for. Big bank takes little bank every single time

Costs less if you want to watch Pulev. But they aren't putting the likes of Khan v Crawford on it are they? - they make that PPV. That's the difference.

Lomachenko may fight on ESPN, but as soon as he fights a decent name, it'll go on PPV. Same with the PBC fighters on Fox & Showtime.

That's where DAZN is better value in the long run.

If you're not gonna pay $9.99 a month you damn sure ain't about to pay $100 for the same service you didn't think was worth $9.99 a month. Especially when the alternative is seeing you favorite fighter fight is $60 cheaper
Damn this is dumb because DAZN isn't static in what they provide because they are so new for example the content that was available when they launched has changed drastically just in the US alone. For example they only launched late 2018 but what is available on DAZN in Dec is night and day what's available now in May. They didn't sign Canelo until Oct and he didn't fight until Dec but didn't have his first big fight until May. They signed a deal with MLB in Dec for their new NFL Redzone type show for MLB but it didn't debut until April. They signed a deal with golden boy in Oct but didn't start airing their first golden boy card until late Jan. They signed a deal with GGG in March but won't air GGG fights until middle of June. They just hired Jamie Horowitz the creator of all the daily sports talk shows for ESPN and FOX and gave him a huge budget to do the same on DAZN but who knows when they will debut their new daily shows that are sure to be coming on DAZN.

My point is the subscriptions will only go up and exponentially because what folks were subscribing to DAZN 3 months ago and 3 months before that is changing drastically because you can't go a single week without DAZN announcing some major sports deal rights they won, or a new service/feature they are providing just a week ago they launched (DAZN Connect), or a new country they are launching in and in all these countries they have sports rights they have just won but have yet to debut in those countries. The boxing content alone has quadrupled from what they provided just in Dec the last time Canelo fought. If a fan didn't think 9.99 was worth it back in Dec you don't think adding MLB adds subscribers? You don't think Canelo fighting Jacobs adds subscribers? You don't think GGG adds subscribers? (somehow people forget by himself used to do 1M viewers every time he fought outside of PPV). You don't think adding all the new shows that Horowitz is going to create will add subscribers? And this is the same for every country you got Premier league soccer and major sports in these countries that DAZN know owns the rights to but has yet to even debut in those countries.

If they at 4M subscribers and with all the new countries they have added and all the new content that hasn't even started airing yet what do you think their subscribers will be in say 3 more months? Or by the end of the year? For a company that didn't even exist 3 years ago and has doubled the amount of countries they are in every year. 4M subscribers in 2 1/2 years is growing faster then Netflix grew. They could legit have double this amount by summer time if you just look at the new countries they added in 2019 they haven't even had rights deals kick in yet.

So if you didn't think 9.99 was worth it back in Dec look at all the content that is now on DAZN now in May and they lowered the price by 1 dollar.

4 million global means that they are probably at a million subs alone in the US, not bad after 7 month, not bad at all.

Give it a couple more years and DAZN will be in more and more countries and slowly become the Netflix of Sports worldwide.

True but it's not consistent enough to make a fan want to spend $100 a year. I'll pay $20 tomorrow for Canelo and then ride it out for the Joshua fight. There's nothing after that that makes me want to keep paying though. I'll just wait for Canelo's next fight to pay another $20. They don't have enough quality throughout the year compared to their competitors.

So other than paying $20 for a Canelo fight what are offering better than what I'd see on FOX/ESPN/FS1/ESPN plus

The fight last week was the same fight I got from HBO for half the cost of DAZN. The Joshua fight costs double what I'd pay for had he stayed with Showtime. Same with GGG-Rolls if he'd signed with PBC. I would've gotten that on Showtime or maybe for free on Fox. Now I'm paying double to see Devin Haney.

And PPV costs don't bother me because like most people it's an event where we've all chipped in. We had about 30 people for Spence/Garcia and about 15 for Crawford/Khan. Our costs are minimal
