Did you see what Hunter did to Ustinov? I think he would've been a better option, in terms of skill! Ruiz is there for his "potential" to draw the Latino fight fans! I think Hunter would beat Ruiz by UD! Also, Hunter and Ruiz only have one loss, but which of them lost to the better fighter? Hunter lost to Usyk. Ruiz lost to Parker.
1. Ortiz is thinking 'wtf' - that money could have been mine.
2. dumb trolls are blaming AJ and dissing Hearn
3. Wilder is lining up mandatories and running from AJ for another year
I didn't see the fight, so I'll take your word on it. However, I have no respect for Joseph Parker's skills as a fighter! I have much respect for Usyk!
April 9, 2017:
Oleksandr Usyk took a few rounds to get going, but when he did, he took over and punished the very game Michael Hunter Jr. on Saturday night on the inaugural card at the new MGM National Harbor. In the end, Usyk, who had a huge 12th round and nearly scored a knockout, won a unanimous decision and retained his cruiserweight world title for the second time...
The fight began to heat up in the third round with some fierce exchanges. Hunter was taking a big step up in opposition but handled it well in the early going. He pumped his jab and caught Usyk with it often. He also appeared a little quicker and was able to move away from many incoming punches...
"No excuses, I lost the fight, no issue with the scorecards," Hunter said. "I need to stay more active. I'd love to fight him again. It was a great fight, and he's a great champion."
I think Hunter is the better fighter, but Ruiz, for reasons other than skill, was the better choice! Salute to Al Haymon for not blocking the fight! LMAO!

I know what you're saying. Ustinov was a big lump but he was a punchbag. Bakole was also a good performance but Bakole got injured and unless I'm misremembering never looked seriously hurt.
AJ is as big as those guys but far more dangerous. You don't need to be fighting a killer like that until you are absolutely ready physically IMO.
That's why Hunter is being built up, because he is not yet ready, even though I've no doubt he would be game and fearless.
