What needs to happen in order for boxing to regain its popularity of 90s/early 2000s?

Not enough stars
Look at just early 2000s
Roy Jones
Oscar
Tyson
Trinidad
Lewis
Then your fringe stars
Mosley
F Vargas
Hopkins
Winky
Gatti
When it shifted to Mayweather, Pac-Man the 3 being groomed to join the elite didn’t happen. Cotto, Taylor and Lacy. Cotto is the only one that panned out.
Those early 2000s guys knew how to connect with an audience and promote and they all fought each other.
Today’s fighters can’t promote worth a damn. Crawford, Spence and Thurman. No one gives a crap about them. They do not give fans a reason to.
Back then almost that whole list was with HBO.
Now it’s splintered 3 ways.
Canelo AJ Crawford and Fury need to go to PBC and it’s problem solvedComment

If they find boxers with the personality of an Adrien Broner & the skills of a Floyd Mayweather the sport goes up levels

Nothing, it simply won't ever be what it once was, and that's perfectly fine. UFC has surpassed boxing and there is no coming back from that. NBA/NFL/etc will always be more popular than boxing stateside, but for boxing to let the UFC surpass it? That's a big no no. You have to at least be the #1 combat sport out there and that's not happening anymore.Comment
