Streaming is the future. But don't get it twisted & think the old players won't get into streaming FOR REAL when streaming pops. And streaming hasn't popped yet & isn't close to popping imo.

Pretty sure Fox & Showtime both offer streaming means to watch their product as well already they just aren't the go to or promoted as much.

Streaming isn't reallllllllllly gonna pop til the players start customizing their product more & idek if the technology is fully there to do that, but I know so far Fight Pass was the best example of what streaming could be. Mainly doe its still in its infancy so no one is winning the streaming market anytime soon.

The problem with streaming is the cost. Add up all these apps & you're paying more than you were for cable. As long as TV's are still being sold free tv will always dominate.....because it's FREE!

People are paying for streaming. People are paying for cable in various forms. Ultimately its the same sh^t cuz people still paying. Streaming TV is just the upgrade on Broadcast TV.

Streaming is the way forward period, no two ways about it. I rarely watch my free TV because its full of crap. We have a smart TV and most have apps on them. We stream everything on there. Even my five year old knows how to do that.

There are almost 100 million homes in America that either:

            1. Live in an area that doesn't have adequate internet and the ISP aren't building the infrastructure because the cost doesn't justify it.

            2. Have access but can't afford it. Because of this now pre-paid internet/cable is a thing in urban areas.

People liked to make jokes about Bounce TV when PBC was putting shows on there. Saints & Sinners on Bounce gets higher ratings than NHL, MLB, & Boxing.

Antenna sales are rising, in another sign of churn in TV watching

Twenty percent of homes in the U.S. use a digital antenna to access live TV, up from 16 percent just two years ago, according to Parks Associates market research in Texas. The Twin Cities has an even higher antenna percentage. It’s the eighth largest broadcast-only market in the country, with more than 22 percent of homes using antennas to get local TV, according to TVb.org, a local broadcast trade association.

Duane Wawrzyniak, owner of Electronic Servicing in Silver Lake, Minn., near Hutchinson, said his antenna business has doubled in the past five years. “When Dish and DirecTV came out to the rural areas in 2000 to 2005, it was a big deal. Our antenna business went away,” he said. “But people got tired of having a $100 TV bill every month for channels they never watch.”

I think we all can agree streaming is the future. Does that mean streaming will be the exclusive or primary medium fans consume certain sports? That, I don't know.

I think PBC and ESPN do it right-they offer both live TV events and fights available on streams. The major sports in the US do the same so if they haven't gone exclusively to streaming I don't see why boxing would.

                  Yep.

I was at a work conference in Dallas last fall and was one of the few analysts in a room full of directors, VPs, CEOs, etc (guys with money). One of the speakers was talking about product vs service and asked us if we knew the reason Netflix was successful. She said "raise your hand if you still get DVDs in the mail from Netflix" and a bunch of hands went up, which astounded the rest of us. These were rich guys that probably had giant houses in rural areas or the edge of suburbs, so high speed internet wasn't available.

She told that us Blockbuster actually got into streaming first, in the mid 2000s in a partnership with Enron, but the technology wasn't there and watching a movie on your 2002 eMachine computer ******, so the project was a flop. Netflix succeeded because, rather than offering a product (streaming movies on your ****ty 2002 eMachines computer) they focused on the service by solving your problem of getting movies into your home. First with mail order DVDs, and then gradually brought in the streaming as the technology got here.

Which is kind of interesting when you think about that approach and how it could apply to boxing.

Sounds like Dazn Is going to do a great job with boxing the problem I see most of us are paying over $100 a month for cable or DIRECTV and another 19.99 a month Is it going to be easy on the pockets of many Americans who are struggling to make ends meet
