While Ruiz may be a tougher matchup for AJ, it's unfortunate that the optics to the casual fan will be, "that jacked British champ is fighting a smaller fat guy". Miller may have been all glitter and no gold but he presented the image Eddie wanted for AJ's US debut: big, brash American with an undefeated record and AJ going to conquer him in his hometown of New York.

Ortiz wouldn't have ticked all the boxes that Miller did (irrelevant of their actual comparative skills) but he did have some name recognition and had the potential to be used as a measuring stick based on his performance against Wilder. Sounds like his promotion thought they could eke out a random and lost out. Oh well. Good luck to Andy, hope it's a compelling fight.

it's clear Ortiz is cycling off. no other excuse.

That is whats going to happen am afraid. Physically its not pleasing to the eye just looking at Ruiz, he sure can let his hands go and i wouldn't be surprised if more people are rooting for the underdog in the end once they touch gloves.

If that's the only words you saw from my post, expect anything you like. You can as well be a golden monkey, I don't give a phuck.

How does the amount of money that another man turns down touch a person's innards like that? Someone needs to contact Jay Jimenez or Luis Ortiz and let them know that their management/promotional missteps are harmful to some of these fans.

The only selling point to Rolls is similar to what Wade's was as GGG's mandatory - 'this guy has a 0, he had a good amateur career, maybe....' lol.

I'm not saying Rolls is great at all - I've only seen clips of him and read a little about him. But I can't imagine he is really 110!! at MW. That's crazy lol, true or not. He seems to have been a good amateur and I notice Leatherwood and Nicholson's names on his resume, and Nicholson is apparently rated at 48 at SMW.

But yeah I will be glad when that fight is done and hopefully GGG's next few fights are against Andrade, Canelo and another top guy.
How is this GGG's mando? GGG has no belts??? And this is a Catchweight fight.

especially when that 70% is still probably 8x more than he can make elsewhere.
