Barry Hearn smiles: When I was running boxing we were slave traders

Stop being a clown. Barry hit all the stereotypes in that clip. It's easy to understand why someone would interpret that as a racist comment.
If you don't think it's racist then cool (i don't think it is either). But don't act like someone interpreting that as racist is off the markNah man I'm saying one more time that an old white mfer sitting next to a young black guy talking about slave trading is some out of touch moment that reminds me of some old racist grandpa moment at Thanksgiving dinner when the white daughters black bf comes over.
Can't say racial sh^t here without some of y'all basic mfers misunderstanding the f#ck outta it. Holy f#ck man lol.

Exactly why I'm always ANTI PROMOTER and PRO FIGHTER! Promoters need to be removed from this sport completely it is too many of them and they bring nothing to this sport they only TAKE FROM IT! They're all LEECHES! Suck the Money and Blood out of these fighters then throw them away when they can't make money off of them anymore
It so explains the hate for Al Haymon from PROMOTERS and not the FIGHTERS. He is Educating Fighters about how USELESS Promoters are and he is RIGHT!Comment

Even if he was talking about "slave contracts," I'm sure most of those contracts went to black fighters. No difference.Comment

The man clearly says it's better that it's not like that anymore.Comment

For it to be racist he'd have to be saying it was a good thing and they was specifically targeting a certain race not ripping off all fighters. Plus are you even sure about most of those contracts considering he's a UK promoter and will have had a lot of Irish, Scottish fighters etc.
The man clearly says it's better that it's not like that anymore.
I think he should apologize, explain himself, and get over with.Comment

It's taken out of context and you still have to add your own narrative to make it racist. Just because he says slave next to a black man doesn't mean he's talking about race. He starts of referring to the slave contracts they used to give fighters and carries on from there.

Thats exactly what Haymon is right now. He is a slave master. They call Hearn a slave master yet he is making sure his fighters get paid well. Haymon is the opposite, he is refusing to allow his fighters to take great offers and great opportunities because it does not suit his business plan. Unfortunately for his best fighters he only sees them as tools to be used how he sees fit in the pursuit of money.
It is just crazy that they have ZERO interest in making or letting Spence face Crawford. Its madness that Deontay Wilder is turning down 100 god damn million Dollars to take the fight he screeches that he wants so much. He seems to have a number of fighters that want to fight, or claim to want to fight Lomachenko. But all we get is dismissive talk from their management.
And the way they have just took a big dump on Luis Ortiz. If i were Ortiz id be wanting out of any contract he may have with who ever. Its a disgrace to the fans, the fighters and the sport. Slavery very much exists in this sport and the biggest Gangmaster out of them all. AL HAYMON.Comment

You have to add the racist bit yourself though since he's clearly talking about how they used to treat boxers. Also if you watch the full clip he starts off by talking about Dillian Whyte being on a fight by fight basis and how strange that is in comparison to when they had fighters on slave contracts. The missing context will help people create their own narrative I guess.Comment
