I interpret it that way wholly. The guy is a redneck, so is Eddie himself. I felt those vibes from him, too, like he owns everybody. Luckily, these days, fighters have more of a voice.

You have to add the racist bit yourself though since he's clearly talking about how they used to treat boxers. Also if you watch the full clip he starts off by talking about Dillian Whyte being on a fight by fight basis and how strange that is in comparison to when they had fighters on slave contracts. The missing context will help people create their own narrative I guess.
