he was great while ggg was doing mexican style vs bums... but ggg knows mexican style is only going to get him to the hospital on a canelo rematch and sanchez cant do much more than that, so no need for sanchez anymore...
Abel Sanchez is a terrible trainer

I ultimately approve of GGG's decision (although not in how he did it if Abel's take is legit), but lets not go to crazy town by saying Abel is a sh^t trainer. He helped get GGG to where he's at.
Okay he couldn't the W over Canelo, but f#ck man so far the only guy who's legit nabbed the W from Canelo is Floyd who just happens to be the best fighter of our era. So is it really THAT bad Abel couldn't help GGG get to the tippty top? I say no.Comment

Abel's whole Mexican style gimmick was not good for Golovkins career. He's a way more technical fighter than that. That style doesn't really suit him. Buddy McGirt might be good if he can do the same with GGG as he did with KovalevComment

He's not terrible. He made gassiev champ without any amateur pedigree. But I agree at this point ggg no longer needs him.Comment

I'm probably the only one who thinks Abel was a pretty solid trainer. Dude had huge winning streaks and made a lot of champions. That in itself is a feat. He was to the point and street smart. Plus nobody could of saved Golovkin in the second Canelo fight. Dude didn't want the smoke. If someone does 90% wins, you're good. Not his problem when the 10% doesn't go his way. But also I side with GGG, if you can't get results, don't pay.Comment

SOURCES: Junior welterweight contender Alex Saucedo has parted ways with trainer Abel Sanchez. Saucedo was knocked out by Maurice Hooker in a title fight in November. Saucedo will return in the fall
