Unless he is getting some back end money here I dont see how he will get $5 million anytime soon or title shots...Unless there were "options" evolved i see no reason why an old fighter who already lost to the only other champ would turn down such a huge payday that would take care of him and his family...
Gotta be honest here Ortiz got screwed by his team

He clearly doesn’t fancy fighting Joshua, that much is very clear now. He was WBA mandatory and decided to fight Wilder instead for 400K. Now he’s turning down $5m which he’s got no chance of getting vs Wilder.Unless he is getting some back end money here I dont see how he will get $5 million anytime soon or title shots...Unless there were "options" evolved i see no reason why an old fighter who already lost to the only other champ would turn down such a huge payday that would take care of him and his family...Comment

This is the realist scenario. I wouldn’t say “juicing,” but Team Ortiz need to know for sure there are no residual traces even in the ultra low amounts from a month back. I think until he flushes it all out can he sign the VADA contract because it would make PBC suspect and the WBC CBP as well. It would cause a shet storm tbh. Also Conte would look bad too and it raises a lot of questions on authority and those affiliated to the WBC/VADa.
This is why advanced drug testing isn’t consistent and 365 only matters.
Ortiz has to pay his daughter’s medical bills. Only a fool would turn this down, and not fair to prize fighting merit.
Unless of course the theory continues... Haymon advises his fighters what to do in all scenarios..Comment

I think this is a high possibility...
There is absolutely no way that any team is that dumb, it's retirement money, its more than some of Floyd and Manny's opponents who were bigger names got.
Even in this market there is no explanation for this, to be honest I'm not even mad, I feel bad for Ortiz but someone is going to get that money so hopefully it's one of the good guys in the division who can put up a good fightComment

I'm assuming it's going to go exactly like GGG-O'Sullivan.
After turning down the GGG fight, O'Sullivan got $400k to fight Lemieux (who only got $200k). That was no accident.
Expect Ortiz to get a fat payday from Haymon in his next fight.Comment

I don't get it either. I think he got $500K for fighting Wilder. Now he has a chance to make 10x that at the end of his career and he's not going to take it?Comment
