Comments Thread For: Nelson Feels Ortiz Too Dangerous For Joshua on Short-Notice

As first reported by BoxingScene.com, Luis Ortiz's camp has confirmed the Cuban will not be replacing Jarrell Miller to take on Anthony Joshua at Madison Square Garden on June 1. Miller had been due to fight WBA, WBO, IBO and IBF heavyweight champion Joshua but then Miller was refused a licence after failing three pre-fight drug tests.

Well we will never know, Haymon got him to duck Joshua. Personally i think AJ would of demolished him easy but thats just my opinion based on the fact ive seen Ortiz having to go to war against lower ranked opposition.

Interesting comments. I’m still disappointed we won’t be seeing Joshua-Ortiz...maybe ever.

to be fair, Nelson gets so many predictions wrong, sometimes I think he does it on purpose to make it look like Sky is is neutral

Think we all know by now it’s nothing to do short notice , money etc

It’s all to do with the pbc protection racket

Same reason wilder turned down a 100 million .... painfully obvious what’s going on . Basically a network war and pbc heavys are being used as pawns

A few people have said switching to a southpaw at 6 weeks notice is dangerous but AJ never ducked a challenge. Shame Al had no confidence in Ortiz and pulled it.

Yeah. Ortiz shelf like is a couple more years absolute MAXIMUM.

If he could pull it off, the AARP, Metamucil, and Depends would be falling all over him for sponsorship gigs.

So what was the so-called lowball offer? It was reported that Ortiz only made a few hundred thousand for the Wilder fight so you can't go much lower than that! What I've noticed about most of these fighters today is they claim they're not afraid and are willing to fight anyone but most of them never do! Don't claim it was a lowball offer and don't say what the amount was! That's just seems a little funny!

Ortiz is no where near as good or dangerous as Vitali in all honesty.
