Hunter has looked good so far at both CW and HW, but this is too soon really. His best scalps at HW are; Ustinov who is huge but ancient, and Bakolie who although a regular sparring partner of Joshua is an inexperienced prospect. Fighting Hunter at this stage is low-reward for Joshua so ideally, he needs someone more tested at the weight. Bearing in mind the opponent needs to be at least USA based if not a genuine American - ideally a New Yorker, the order of preference should be; 1)Ortiz, 2)Kownacki, 3)Ruiz, 4)Bryan, 5)Hunter, 6)Pulev - who although decent is only on the list because he's signed to a US promoter so has some exposure over there.
I understand some of the above have turned down the fight already saying there's not enough time to prepare or they want more money, etc.

When I watched the film of his fight with Usyk, saw him landing plenty of punches and keeping it close right up to the championship rounds, I put that down to Usyk being a slow starter and having an off night.

When I watched him dominate and KO the huge and highly touted Martin Bakole, I wrote Bakole off as a hype job, but then he rebounded with a stoppage win over Wach and looked as good, if not better, than Jarrell Miller against that same opponent.

So now I'm giving Hunter his due respect. A small, fast guy like him, with boxing skills, chin, stamina, and a lot of determination, could turn out to be a banana skin type opponent for AJ.
I'm with you on this. When I saw Hunter fight Usyk and make it a very competitive affair, I wondered if it said more about Usyk or Hunter. In the fights involving both men since then, it confirms that Hunter is legit. He has some impressive wins in impressive fashion and Usyk has dispatched his opposition.

I'm not saying Hunter would win but I think he's a much tougher out for alot of the top tier HWs than he's given credit for

With people that already booked airfare and expensive hotel, in very expensive NYC, parking that cost $100 for the whole day and $50 bridge tolls, no one to trying to hear the name of Micheal Hunter, this when Skipper has to step in and put a halt to it

I didn't watch Usyk vs Hunter till last year, when I already knew how good Usyk was.

                He looks fat at Heavyweight.

I'd rather see Joshua fight Andy Ruiz.

If Ortiz is officially ruled out this might be the best out of a bunch of bad options

If it is Hunter, or whoever it is, I hope they give a good account of themselves. It’s good for the division and will only help both fighters improve.

At this moment all options for Hearn are poor. He should cancel his latest PPV . He is becoming ridiculous, no back up plan with a
fighter top of the bill and a drug cheating history......pure ******ity ,nativity .....but still trying the con! Save the greedy one for another day.
