I'm sorry - as reasons not to take a fight go - describing any offer that Matchroom USA will have made as 'lowball' is plainly fantasy. They were prepared to pay the deeply untalented Miller a guaranteed six million, with a share of the international ppv sales on top of that. $8m is a conservative estimate.

To think they suddenly got cheap when they have the US debut of Joshua on the line is illogical.

And even if they did suddenly go cheap and only offered Luis half of what they promised Miller - how does a record pay day translate into a 'low ball' offer? Half a million seems low ball to me.

The real sadness is that by passing up this chance Ortiz will now probably never get to fight Joshua. As after this voluntary he has mandatories stacking up. I just don't understand this decision.

With all the heavys being popped for PEDs, I wouldn’t be surprised if he feels he can’t pass a short notice test.

its fun to make up your own fake scenarios isnt it? why would ortiz get the same deal? hes stepping in on short notice. the fights already almost sold out. all he has to do is take the money. hes also not with dazn and dazn has been building toward this fight with miller. so many reasons. his career high is 500k and he was almost certainl offered more for the fight he has wanted for years..or so he pretended until now. instead of focusing on what he could have made he focused on what someone else was going to make. aka bull-**** excuse duck. aka pbc fighter wasn't allowed to fight off of pbc. same story as always.

I thought Hearn said that whoever fought Joshua was getting "Big Baby"'s $7 million purse?

Wow, Joshua is the confirmed boogeyman of the division. He has people turning down not only career high pay days, but rather money that is multiple times more than they've earned in their entire careers combined for the chance at 3 belts. Money that they will not get anywhere else.

then theres Miller, the one guy "brave" enough to fight him, but could only do so while taking every performance enhancing drug known to man. Incredible.

I said he would duck day to date i knew it , is value suddenly went through the roof , i know he was offer more than 2 mil that is good offer for him by a mile as he is a 300k fighter , is best pay day to date is 500k . 2 mil plus is a great offer.

Ortiz was last fighting on Erislandy Lara's undercard. He is a nobody.

Odd way to phrase "I need to get these drugs out of my system"

Obvious duck, this fight means a lot to matchroom as part of their business expansion so they aren't going to lowball (hence paying Miller a lot more than he's worth) as it'll lower the chances of higher subscription numbers on Dazn and poorer ppv sales in UK if the fight is poor.

Ortiz probably just knows if he gets beat by one of the top guys it's game over and Wilder is probably the easiest of the three to beat

Because he won't make that 1 or 2 million against anyone else.
