I just said it in another thread that it's Egis Klimas school of cheatery. I wouldn't be surprised if he robbed GGG blind and is doing the same to Loma and Usyk.
Klimas has or had nothing to do with GGG. Not sure how he robbed him.

Wasn't he his manager at some point, or in his team?

Floyd himself had said more than a few times that he was fighting for money. So I am guessing what Loma meant was businessman first, sportsman second. Nobody can really argue with that.

However, now Floyd can't be knocked for trying to make the maximum amount of money off his fighter. That's his job. Arum is no different. Floyd wouldn't be a good promoter if he was matching his fighter for greatness.

It's Gervonta Davis who should get the stick. Loma wouldn't have had the career we admire if he listened to Arum. Gervonta shouldn't listen to Floyd if he wants legacy and fan's respect. He should listen if he wants to retire a rich man...

So, it would be correct to say - Floyd has always been businessman first and sportsman second, and Gervonta is following in his tracks.

Hope that's what he really wanted to say.
Lomachenko, basically in the prime of his career, decided to give Bob Arum 5 more years of his career without even pausing to fathom what he could see in free agency or to get a better deal to stay.

That was a business decision, and a blatant one at that. To call that anything else is foolish.

Gervonta Davis has his own business decision to make, starting with this likely Yuriorkis Gamboa fight at the end of July in the 14k-seat venue in Baltimore. After that, he's likely got the Cancio fight and Farmer unification.

Lomachenko doesn't call the shot, and no amount of Top Rank media baiting is going to change that.

          • "Fighters bad-mouthing each other makes promoters' lives easier. In this sport, you gotta sell, sell, sell."

This pretty much sums it all up.

No. Klimas’ champs have been Loma, Usyk, Kovalev, Gvozdyk, Gradovich and others but not GGG.

It must have been Kovalev I was thinking of. The businessman thing is coming from somewhere of commonality. Trying to figure out where. I can't see Loma thinking that at all.

                Thanks for the correction, Chris.

Do you think he'll stay at 130?

                    • Loma should never criticize Floyd (5 Divisions Champs) and Pacman (8 Divisions). Calling Pacman old but would not fight him at 140 with the biggest pay day of his life because he is not a businessman like Floyd?! But he is willing to go down to 130 to fight Tank for free as an athlete?!
