Loma is the perfect fighter for Bob after Manny. He is fighting for history and bragging rights while Bob builds his family's trust fund off of his talents. Mayweather showed fighters how to be athletes and businessmen at the same time.

Die hard mayweather fan here and I agree with you completely. That was not a dis more than it was Loma just stating a fact.

But I think Floyd is promoting Tank the wrong way. Resume is what makes you a ppv star, there is no business without resume.

Floyd himself beat Gennaro Hernandes, Diego Corrales, Chop Chop Corleyn Jose Luis Castillo, Gatti, Angel Manfredy, Zab Judah, Carlos Baldomir, and finally Oscar Dela Hoya before he became a ppv star, and that was across a span of five weight classes.

Canelo had tough fights with Trout, Mayweather himself, Lara, and Cotto before he became a ppv star.

The goodwill of the fans and the media is earned, not given.

Tank will never become a ppv star if he continues to duck strong opposition.

Well, Loma's career isn't over yet, right? So we can't really compare the two. But if he really wants to...Floyd won his first title belt in his 18th fight. Loma is a multi-division champion with multiple belts after 14 fights. Oh, and a multiple amateur world champion and 2 times Olympic gold medalist. So..yeah, Loma is off to already more promising start than Floyd. Loma won't make as much money as Floyd - sure, but in terms of legacy, let's wait for Loma's retirement and then compare. I think that would be something to discuss.

It’s pretty sad that it’s 2019 and Top Rank is still using Floyd’s name to drum up interest in their fighters. Loma is a great boxer but the notion that he fights the best every time or that his management isn’t focused on money is ridiculous.

Loma knows the biz. He knows Tank would fight him as Tank is a fighter. He also knows Floyd is preventing it. Just remember that this entire Loma/Tank fiasco started when Floyd publicly dissed Loma after the Rigo fight.


Floyd and Ellerbe are watching Tank like a hawk. They make him delete tweets whenever Tank tries to say something back to Loma. They keep silencing him at press conferences. It is really weird what is going on. Loma took what Floyd said as an attack on his own legacy that he is trying to build. He said to him basically throw the best you have at me in Tank.
