He didn't talk about his skills or career he just said that they (TMT) are ducking a Lomachenko-Davis fight which is 1000% correct. They are openly bragging about ducking it. The closest it appeared was when Mayweather and Davis seemed to be falling out but then Davis got scared and Floyd got back on board with the ducking.
Davis is a fraud. They are hiding something. He had his Buster Douglas moment vs. Pedraza and has exclusively fought guys a few divisions smaller since then whilst ducking the bigger challenges. Ok, you're scared of Loma, well try to fight Berchelt (the #1 at 130) or Farmer (who he probably beats) but runs from them too.

Wish there was a link to that podcast in the article...
Floyd himself had said more than a few times that he was fighting for money. So I am guessing what Loma meant was businessman first, sportsman second. Nobody can really argue with that.
However, now Floyd can't be knocked for trying to make the maximum amount of money off his fighter. That's his job. Arum is no different. Floyd wouldn't be a good promoter if he was matching his fighter for greatness.
It's Gervonta Davis who should get the stick. Loma wouldn't have had the career we admire if he listened to Arum. Gervonta shouldn't listen to Floyd if he wants legacy and fan's respect. He should listen if he wants to retire a rich man...
So, it would be correct to say - Floyd has always been businessman first and sportsman second, and Gervonta is following in his tracks.
Hope that's what he really wanted to say.

I don't know what Lomachenko was trying to say, but the picture in the article says it all. If you think Mayweather wasn't a dedicated athlete, then you've only learned about him from your social media feed. For as talented as Lomachenko is (tied for my current favorite fighter with Errol Spence), he'd be lucky to have 10% of Mayweather's career.

When you're a prize fighter and have been so for the last two decades then you're most certainly an athlete.
Maybe Loma should pick up a dictionary and look up "Athlete".
Mayweather will be remembered as the greatest of his era and a top 5 of all time - fighting and beating legends AND an entrepreneur. Loma is pushing 31 and has topped at 135 with a good, albeit short resume. Yeah, we'll see how it goes...
