Imagine going up to random people on the street and asking them if they know who Teofimo Lopez is? Like 10/10 people would have no clue, they'd probably guess he's El Chapo new successor or something lol

It's funny, Spence before the fight was in a lose-lose, and then after the fight he was mainly praised and even went higher up the P4P lists.

But like I mentioned a few days ago, not like Lomachenko is getting much credit beating guys like Crolla either.

Loma and Spence are held to different standards. Spence was getting credit for Algieri (2 L's and one win over Bone) and Brook coming off a loss...so yeah, he was going to get credit for Mikey. Loma getting criticized even after filling demands of fighting Russell, Rigo, Linares, and flat out saying, "i shouldn't get credit for Rigo." NSB is polluted with pbc shills.

Yea Loma isn't in a great position overall I wouldn't disagree. All his main potential rivals are young cats who if he beats them he was supposed to beat them & if he doesn't it hurts his rep. F#cked up thing is even IF he did move up to 140 all thats for him there is young cats too. Loma would have to move to 147 to have non-no win situations.

As for Spence I feel like how Spence won helped how some people viewed the W. If Spence had just went in & bullied Mikey & used his size more I think he probably doesn't get as much credit. The fact Spence beat Mikey at Mikey's game helped with Spence's PR post-fight. Thats kinda why I think Loma is in a worse situation cuz there is no way for him to snatch a winable situation out of a Teofimo fight that I can see outside of Teofimo becoming some epic rival (like Manny vs Erik vs MAB back in the day for an example) that enhances both guys reps no matter who wins or loses.

I kinda hate these fan legacy arguments. Sure I guess if Teofimo becomes a scifi boxing fan ATG P4P guy a potential L to Teofimo looks better on Loma's resume in 2035 or w/e. But we live in the present moment is the problem right now its a no win situation for Loma.

Like that Canelo win is looking better and better for Floyd, even though it was a very good win at the time. But now? 15-20 years later some may argue that is his greatest win ever. Well as you mention Canelo was a pretty f#cking good W at the time. Canelo was proven at the tip top level. Teofimo just isn't. Canelo had been a title holder for 2.5yrs by the time he fought Floyd. Teofimo hasn't even beaten a top ten guy yet. Canelo beat a future HOFer in SSM & a few ex-title holders by the time he fought Floyd. Huge difference with this comparison.

And I'm not saying what Loma should or shouldn't do because of the money or legacy or w/e. I'm just saying what is. And it is a no win situation for Loma & I agree Loma is surrounded by no win situations unless someone builds themselves up to a viable entity that could be a rival of Loma before fighting Loma.
