Now, I think the risk is fully worth it. Worst case scenario, Lopez loses a decision where his stock hardly drop, if any. Think of it like Mayweather vs Canelo. Best case scenario? Lopez stops Lomachenko and becomes the only REAL PPV star TR has in its stable. And he will eventually move up to 140 and 147 where there will be good fights for him. Top Rank needs to make this fight happen late 2019 or early 2020. Come on Bob, get this done!

I often dog Arum for his "style" of operating & often moving fighters a lil too slow, but the move to overpay (imo) Khan to get Bud a more legit opponent/name & the talk of Loma vs Teofimo happening within a year are very un-Arum-like tactics so I gotta give the guy some credit. I hope we see Arum pull the trigger on Loma vs Teofimo inside of 12 months & we see Arum making legit offers or allowing Bud to cross the street to get more PBC guys fighting Bud which is what the 147lb division needs.

Friday. Theyre fighting tonight. Not Saturday. Loma is getting so dogged on this one. Arum's most memorable quote in the lead up is that he got cornholed into this fight. Loma himself sounds like he needs prozac at the prospect of getting in the ring this time. And they're showing it Friday. I thought Kovalev got tatered when they put his rematch with Alvarez on early Superbowl sunday morning.

Dude is still prospect level talking about PPV lol like bruh outside of us hardcore boxing fans.. literally NO ONE knows you.
Imagine going up to random people on the street and asking them if they know who Teofimo Lopez is? Like 10/10 people would have no clue, they'd probably guess he's El Chapo new successor or something lol

This would be step towards stardom. He's not all of a sudden becoming Mayweather after beating DLH. Lomachenko obviously isn't on that level. But beating someone like Lomachenko and entering the top 10 P4P lists and headlining ESPN? He will be on his way towards becoming a star.

But no doubt TR is in bit of predicament with Crawford and his future options. My hope is they go Spence/Porter, Pacquiao/Thurman and then TR gives DSG big money to try to pry him for a Crawford showdown. That would be great right there. Maybe unlikely, but that's the best option he has right now.
As for Lomachenko, he's always had more names on the ledger than Crawford. Has been that way from the start and he still has more options, but the Lopez fight is the one to make. Of course Lopez needs a good win in the mean time, but give him a sturdy test next and if he wins, make the Lomachenko fight before he moves up to 140. A legit star can be born on that night. Lomachenko is 31 heading towards 32, so he's not going to all of a sudden become a star at this point of his career. He's already a good name and does good ratings, but being a PPV star? FORGET ABOUT IT (Arum voice).

Unless this turns into some epic trilogy or something anyway that makes both of their names bigger off of each other & the fight itself.

It's funny, Spence before the fight was in a lose-lose, and then after the fight he was mainly praised and even went higher up the P4P lists.
But like I mentioned a few days ago, not like Lomachenko is getting much credit beating guys like Crolla either.
